This was the worst channel ever, I use to get drunk and just watch it for a laugh, terrible bumpers, that being said when I heard of it’s demise I tuned in for the last minutes and cracked a beer.

I’m watching this video on a CRT at the moment via Roku. I used an HDMI to RCA converter from Radio Shack (yes you can still order from their site) hooked up through my DVD VHS combo. I had to run it this way for the TV set because it only had a coax out. I tried to use the converter you used, but everyone I got was non working. Ive been using this set up for about as long as Roku has have HDMI only. At one time, Walmart sold an exclusive Roku unit that was RCA only, but after a few years, it became obsolete and I had to use this process.

Figured out It was on 6.5 mhz settings, had to bring it down to 4.5 NTSC according to the chart, by holding the (CH - for 3 seconds), took a second to kick in when I got on to channel 27 but it worked! haha. @@VynilCat I would say you would have to look at the type of antenna you’re using or how the antenna is aimed. If it’s an indoor antenna, try locating it higher up and in a window that faces the broadcast towers. If it’s an outdoor antenna, you might have to relocate it outside in an area where there is no obstructions such as trees between the antenna and the broadcast signal. Rescan each time you move the antenna around.

For the most part that stuff is encrypted, but once in a while, cable channels come into the clear for a little bit.

Nope. I tried. I wonder if it had anything due to the fires in Los Angeles. Yeah. I lost those and I tried on another tv and they don’t come up any longer. Maybe they went belly up. Too bad I miss the toons channel.

bought one of the Ist converters ten yrs ago apex,it along with the same video amp delivered 70 some channels,w marvelous pic fidelity even with an old zenith tube color tv,,but the apex ran hot all the time,after a year,,it had to be heated up before the red LED turned green,,, it crapped out a few months after this heating requirement befiore it would operate,a super device but with a design flaw ( govt sponsored rebate pgm)

Thanks for a great and detailed video. My coax had 2 sets of braided wire separated by plastic sheeth. Wasn't sure what to do so I untangled both and twisted them as you showed, making sure they didn't touch. Then unsheathed the copper wire, bent them all correctly, taped them to the wall and boom! It works perfectly. Thanks again.

C band will become more popular when someone starts manufacturing one. I have come across numerous wrecked C band dishes, often with inferior metals and construction, and just as often, grouches, who couldn't make up their minds that they want to part with them. A lot of them are crude diamond pattern aluminum mesh with chromoly steel powder coated and joined with plain steel bolts. They look like they should be covered in barnacles. If someone stamped 6 sided overlap panels in aluminum, and a center with mount, you would see C band come back. Solid parabola means better gain and a reduction in diameter. Even Ku is going to wait till I find something with a little extra punch. 39 inches in the mail is expensive. They need a lot more Rockford Files and Alfred Hitchcock Presents to get me to hook up the box. Mid sky 119 and a dozen more are blocked by a building.
