I like mine - Have had it a little over a year - One thing I do not care for is the weak remote - the remote barely operates the box from 10 feet away and better be pointed dead on and multiple button presses are common - would like to find a stronger swap out but no luck so far . Love that has a very good tuner and does not need wifi just an antenna. Glad mine is not the newer version with internal power source jic murphys law strikes. Anyway, I keep it connected to my stuff just for the handy sig strength meter. It's also a good portable tool that I've used helping friends point their antennas.

Can a single output lnb like my avenger work on the switches like that, or is a dual required?
@NorthcoasterHobby
@NorthcoasterHobby 4 күн бұрын
@@bryancozort2068 A dual output LNB is required. This is so that each output can supply one polarity (Horizontal or Vertical) to the switch, so both all channels (both H and V) can be viewed on each receiver. Using a single output LNB would only supply one polarity (either H or V) and you’d essentially be missing half the channels on a satellite. @NorthcoasterHobby
@NorthcoasterHobby 4 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for watching my video. Different types of coaxial cable have different thicknesses. RG59 is the thinnest; then there is RG6, this is the most common coaxial cable and is usually the best for most cable/TV antenna/satellite applications, and then finally there is RG6 Quad Shield, which is thicker. Each cable type has its own connectors that are sized to fit that cable. I would suggest going to a hardware store and looking for coaxial connectors. The packaging should specify what type of cable the connectors fit. Have a look at the outer jacket on the cable you have- it should say 'RG59', RG6', or 'RG6 Quad' right on it. If the cable you have is on the thinner side and not able to hold the connector on, I suspect it may be RG59 cable. If you can't find the connectors you need locally, try looking online. Here are some links: RG59: amzn.to/4fTSh1D (should work with the tool you have) RG59 twist-on connectors amzn.to/3Mm0Rsg (no tool needed to apply these) A quick video on applying twist-on connectors: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKmqYYOtnq-brLMsi=Wb5xBjmnuVDvlHTZ I hope you find what you need, thanks again for watching!

12 Reasons why OTA DRM ATSC 3.0 TV will fail. Just say NO to (DRM). Tell your USA Government about the Hostile Takeover of (OTA DRM ATSC 3.0 NEXTGEN-TV) issues listed below. DRM (Digital Rights Management) Encrypted TV Station's signals. Why? Some 3.0 tuners at this time require you stay on the internet to decode DRM 3.0 TV Stations. Why? 3.0 Currently no 4K and you only get the Simulcasted main channel and no sub channels. Channel Crawling = super slow channel changing (DRM 5 + seconds slow). No sound because of Dolby AC4 audio codec does not have a legal open source license to decode legally on many devices. Some 3.0 tuners have Out of sync audio to video problems. Private Home Networked OTA antenna tuner boxes like (Tablo TV box) can not get official certified approval for DRM ATSC 3.0 NEXTGEN-TV. Why? You may need non OTA home pay internet for updates and to unlock DRM encrypted ATSC 3.0 tv channels. Possible DRM restrictions on DRM ATSC 3.0 recordings and no viewing anywhere on any device with no sound. Emergency alert messages can not be received if DRM is blocking them. OTA DRM ATSC 3.0 TV will fail because the FCC is not going to turn off ATSC 1.0 TV stations for many years if not enough people buy 3.0 TVs and 3.0 boxes. No one has solve the problem of no government money for free DRM 3.0 TV tuner boxes because 1.0 TV turners and recorders will not work after that TV Station switches to 3.0 TV broadcasts. (Range and signal error correction) OR (more sub channels and near 4k picture) trade off problem. FCC is not forcing any 1.0 TV Stations to move over to 3.0 TV. So some TV stations will be on 1.0 and others will be on DRM 3.0. The FCC is only allowing OTA Simulcasts of the ATSC 1.0 main channel at this time on DRM ATSC 3.0 NEXTGEN-TV. DRM ATSC 3.0 is a not finished product and is a work in progress mix of unproven ideas that has never gotten full FCC approval at this time. Software updates for 3.0 tuner boxes may be needed for changes made to the unfinished and future added new official ATSC 3.0 standards modules. Patent License problems. LG no longer sells TVs with ATSC 3.0 tuners. Some 3.0 TV tuners companies may go out of business or stop updates leaving you with no DRM or software updates. OTA ATSC 3.0 is better but is not perfect and still can be affected by weak tv signals: (distance, weather, planes, trees, buildings, trucks, poor antenna, etc). FCC rules that 5 percent of old ATSC 1.0 coverage area does not need to be covered anymore = (SHORTER RANGE). Viewing zone outside of your 15 minute city or town could be blocked. Your TV viewing habits could be tracked by your serial number or IP address. ATSC 3.0 is updatable until it is not updatable without new hardware tuners (ATSC 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0......). Some of these 3.0 TV issues may be fixed over time. This is only some of the mess with DRM ATSC 3.0 TV. This is my opinion why DRM ATSC 3.0 TV will fail. IMO. Stay on OTA 1.0 TV until DRM is removed from OTA ATSC 3.0 by law. It is the people versus the hostile takeover by private DRM 3.0 TV stations for control over the USA public airwaves. IMO 2024...

Great video ,The switch you presented at 1:36 will work very well with both American KU LNB and C Band LNB. But it will not work with Universal LNBs. As for Antenna it will also act like a TV splitter so an antenna amplifier must be installed between the antenna and switch to have excellent reception I must add that the European switch model either has 2 satellite inputs 1 antenna input and 2 combined ouputs or 4 satellite inputs 1 antenna input and 4 combined ouputs. Another advantage is that if you have a DiseqC switch with 4, 8, 10 or 16 inputs you can conect to that switch but we call them multiplexers because the satellite inputs work with both 13 and 18 Volts. Universal LNBs have 4 bands Horizontal Low Vertical Low, Horizontal High and Vertical High, and also a 22KHz built in switch which changes automatically when you change the channel 0 KHz is for Low Band and 22 KHz is for High Band. The North American KU LNBs have Horizontal High and Vertical High Band it is similar to C Band LNB.
@NorthcoasterHobby
@NorthcoasterHobby 6 күн бұрын
@@Nicholas_Chris Why exactly won’t the switch work with universal LNB’s?
@Nicholas_Chris
@Nicholas_Chris 6 күн бұрын
@@NorthcoasterHobby I testeded this model so here it is the problem. For North American KU Band or C Band it won't have problems but for KU Band the receiver will be confused. Horizontal band needs 18 volts but for Universal Ku Band Horizontal Low band is 18 Volts and 0 KHz, Horizontal High Band is 18 Volts and 22 KHz. So if I use only one receiver I won't have problems but if I use both receivers and one is on Horizontal Low Band and the other on Horizontal High Band none of them will work, but if the second receiver is on Vertical then I have signal on both receivers. That is why the European model will allow on both inputs 13 and 18 Volts, the LNB must have 2 ouputs and I have signal on both receiver. Another European Switch model will have 4 LNB inputs and one antenna input, the 4 inputs have Horizontal Low IN, Vertical Low IN, Horizontal High IN, Vertical High IN so you need a Quad or Quatro LNB, but the major advantage is that it has 4, 8, 16 or 32 ouputs. The 4 output model is very simple, but the 8, 16, 32 needs to be connected to a power sources (230 Volts European outlet) but the Switches are mostly for appartments and hotels. Some switches allows you to receive 2 or 4 satellites but they are expensive. The model for 2 satellites has 8 LNB inputs and one antenna input and the 4 satellite model has 16 LNB inputs and one antenna input. But for antenna there is no signal attenuation nor amplification, the signal is the same just like a direct connection.
@NorthcoasterHobby
@NorthcoasterHobby 6 күн бұрын
@@Nicholas_Chris Thank you for the explanation. To clarify, the issue is the 0/22 kHz tone? If one receiver calls for Low band, and one receiver calls for High band, the switch gets crossed up?
@Nicholas_Chris
@Nicholas_Chris 6 күн бұрын
@@NorthcoasterHobby European and Middle East KU Band is more complex than North American and Australian KU Band. And it's also beacuse we have lots of Free channels. And most of us consider OTA as obosolete or something from the 80s. OTA is for those who can't install a satellite dishr and don't want cable. With the DVB-T2 system and MPEG 4 or HEVC video format reception is in most cases very good. I have Cable TV, Satellite TV and OTA TV, FM/DAB Radio i consider all 4 important.
@Nicholas_Chris
@Nicholas_Chris 6 күн бұрын
@@NorthcoasterHobby Yes, the do crossed up and the receivers don't know what channels can be received. Think of OTA when 2 TV stations broadcast on the same channel (frequency) you have an awfull reception, In case of the satellite receiver you have the message "NO SIGNAL". The receiver will act like it's not connected to the dish. 0 KHz if for Low Band (both Vertical and Horizontal) and 22 KHz is for High Band (both Vertical and Horizontal).
