Channel Update 29 May 2024

For Several years I have been releasing videos on Sunday and Wednesday. Two years ago KAT Productions "Skip DeSheau's Fun Knife Friday, on Fridays, bringing the channel up to three videos per week.
In the near future, the Channel will change the time that videos are released. We will be moving to two week Rotation with Videos normally coming out on Monday, Wednesday, Friday the first week and then Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Depending on scheduling the Monday or Saturday episode might move to Sunday. Sunday might also be used for special occasions.
I will also attempt to produce more "Shorts". As the schedule might be a little different. I will also attempt to post upcoming times in the community area.
I will be trialing this new schedule throughout the Summer. This is being done in order to better fit might current schedule.

All your videos are great! I’ve never not watched one all the way through and they’re never boring. Wish there were a new one every day but of course there can’t be and that’s ok, I’ll watch whatever you drop. The main thing like others have said is don’t overdo it and keep healthy. As far as I’m concerned your channel is one of the best on KZbin! I have several cool and favorite knives in my life only because of seeing them here. I really enjoy Skip and the Volcano Club too and the assorted characters that sometimes show up there!

I love Skip DeSheau and his Fun Knife Friday at the Volcano Club. I am new to the Channel, But That being said I have enjoyed the show. I wish Skip all the best. You got to do what's right for you, If your not having fun, well you know the rest. Just don't over stretch your self, and don't let the Cat make all the decisions :) Making Videos is hard work and time consuming. You have my support, I truly enjoy your content especially all the background info and history of knives and knife patterns. You bring a unique difference to the Table that no one ells can do. Thanks for the update. I think it sounds like a great plan. Yeah, I don’t think Skip needs to have a show every week. He should make an appearance when the time is right, and that could be during one of your regular broadcasts. I think more original and fun content would come about that way.

I enjoy watching your content and opinions on knives, I most enjoy the longer and more detailed videos you do. I believe short videos can be informative on particular short informative subjects too. I think that trying to keep up with open tags quickly becomes monotonous. I like seeing original content from ideas of the content provider making the video. Many of the current videos also spend too much time promoting other channels. Often, they do it at the start of a video and bypass the video subject you are expecting to see in the title. That makes me decide not to watch the video when my intent is to support the channel. Entertainment value and interesting information keeps viewers attention. There only so many videos I will watch on the same repeated open tag subject. The subjects on live chats are interesting to view however, two hours of show and tell is unnecessarily to long. It reduces the time from other videos I want to watch within the limit of time I have to spend. One hour or less is more than fair to the other knife channels posting live time conflicting videos.

I do know what you mean about open tags. As I have mentioned, to me, any content created is an "open tag." If you're inspired by a video to create a similar video then that's a great thing. But you are correct. there are only so many videos people can create and/or watch. I also feel that if you're going to reply to open tag, you need to make it "your own." The last time I did a live was 3 years ago. As best I can tell, my longest live event was around 45 minutes. I tend to agree with you about video length. My problem with the live events is it is hard to catalog them by a subject. I know KZbin see it as a popular cash grab but part of what I'm trying to do is create an online information center on knives. I want people to be able to come here and find out something about pocket knives and possibly learn something. I've been toying with the "shorts" for the "Short Attention Span" crowd. I guess you could call it my "elevator pitch" for different knives. But at the end of day, I prefer to go into more depth on the subject. But I feel if that in depth discussion is going to take more than 20-30 minutes - maybe I should break it up to a series of videos. I really do appreciate your thoughts and comments.

If you get pressed to release something, you could share or repost one of your older videos that maybe some of the newer subscribers haven't seen or watched. Too many schedules sounds like work to me. I'm retired & I don't have enough time to participate in every tag or event related to a particular day of the week. Make videos when you feel like it, and if you get extra time, you could shoot many videos & schedule release dates for later times. You run your channel however you want. I'll watch as much as I can whenever I can. It's difficult for me to understand conversations if music is playing at the same time. Intro & outro music is no problem. I get copyright warnings on classical music. You know the original stuff was written by some long dead composer & it should be public domain. Ya never know. Some guy in Pakistan could have acquired the copyright & now you pay Mustafa Abul Mohammed for Mosart. 😅 Musicians used to want people to play their music 🎶. Now it's pay or no play. I use copyright free music also.

I just figure I want to spread things out. The big difference will be having things show up on different days. Just because I have a video on Tuesday or Thursday doesn't mean the video will be a response to an open tag related to that day. As for Skip he's not getting every Friday for his shenanigans. And he's crazy if the thinks every Monday is going to be a "Machete Monday!" About the music... are you able to understand Skip on Fun Knife Friday or is the music to loud? I know we all have different tolerances. My biggest uncontrolled background noise is the air conditioning and furnace.

You have been laid up some and so have I I have found it difficult just to shoot a photo every day and write a paragraph about it on Instagram If you need to back off a little you have to do what’s best for your health and wellbeing Frankly there’s so much content coming from everyone I subscribe to and I only subscribe to the Knife Community I seldom watch anyone’s videos all the way through I do watch Skip Anyway it’s not going to make me less likely to watch your content

How about one week you do Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday then take Sunday off then the next week do Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday again and of course take Sunday off. It is the lord's day. Then just repeat until the end of time! 😂😂😊🤷🏻‍♂️😉🗡⚔🔪 Of course you could just have Skip do one on Sundays " he seems like a deviant anyways......😳🙄🙀🤣🤣😉
