I've never personally liked when content creators have multiple channels for their content. I like going to one place to find everything they've made, or will make (playlists make great organizers for channels with diverse content). But I'm often watching something because I like the opinions, perspective, or insight of the creator, not just the subject matter of the content. I can watch anyone make PVP build videos, or "ramble" about stuff, I come here because I dig your take on things. And, you showed me how absolutely badass the Aquamarine Dagger can be. I might not watch every new piece of content you make, but at least I won't have to subscribe to a second channel to find it. Cheers, bud.

Okay, I finally had the chance to actually watch all of it. First of all: have a nice journey! Traveling around the world is one of the most (if not THE most) enriching experience a person can do, honestly. Expand your knowledge of other cultures, people, histories, it's just the best. So, I hope you take your time with it and enjoy every single moment. After that, I am with you with all the "new multiplayer features” discourse. I really have high expectations for SoTE, because I genuinely think ER has the potential to be simply the best PvP experience of all From games. Not even close, imo. Even right now, with all its flaws and evident problems, I'm enjoying it even more than DS3. BUT, having only a 4 players max count is definitely a glaring issue, and SoTE can potentially fix that aspect easily. So yeah, I really hope that From enrich the PvP and Co-op experience with new arenas, new PvP modes in the arena, improved max player count, (even if only in Legacy Dungeons), the ability to exclude certain areas from your invasions, and so on. The game it's in pretty stable state right now, just waiting to change all over again with the DLC, which I am sure is going to be WILD and massive beyond our expectations, due to the fact that it's in development since forever. And finally, for the extra channel question: go for it. I myself have toyed with the idea of having a smaller channel for the fun, unedited, small stuff. I don't stream (yet), so I don't "need" a new channel, but for your stream vods it's actually a pretty good idea, to keep the main channel clean and simple.

i tend to avoid "_clips" type of channels, since they tend to feel like a dump for unused footage. If you made a side channel that had its own identity without feeling like a content dump, that would be great. Maybe "JM the Danged" or something. Up to you. But i hope your trips are fun and cant wait to hear the stories of how your trips went.

If it’s a second channel or this channel, the more JM content the better imo. Would love to see what kinda antics you’re getting up to in AC6, signalais, SF6, all of the above. Hope you’re having a blast outside of the US. The whole “I’m glad I traveled when i was young” quote reigns true. However, I am broke as hell. Im living vicariously through you. I have been watching your videos on and off for years and you always seem to randomly pop into my head at different points in my life. I normally just look you up and find a new update video that I didn't get recommend. This time I looked you to find no new video and again stumbled on this on. I think it's funny how time flies. Cheers to you man I hope where ever you are you're doing well. :)

Love when you talk about other games that other people should check out! +1 to Ghostrunner, I actually worked on that game's post launch support and DLC for most of 2021! I can also say that from what I saw internally and what's been released thus far of Ghostrunner 2, there's A LOT to look forward to! Idk if you're the kind of person who enjoys platformers but I'd also highly recommend Rain World, it's probably the closest experience from a non-souls game that replicates how it felt to play Dark Souls 1 for the first time. It's wonderful game that has some really fascinating lore buried within it, all based around a lil slugcat trying to survive in a hostile ecosystem in the ruins of a previous civilization. Hope you are doing well and hope your travels are enjoyable!

Jim. Be real. This channel is so starved for content from the past year that it would be a little silly to make a second channel. You don't come CLOSE to uploading often enough to get any sort of special treatment from the algorithm (or any treatment at all, really).

Watched to the end and I have to say.. YOU left an impact on me. Thank you for being the person you are. The first video I ever watched from you was from the underrated series in DS3. The aquamarine dagger or whatever from the Ringed City. I used that thing so much after that video lol

This channel is a rare beacon of neutral and positive attitude that's sorely missing from Soulsborne discussions. And I'm glad to see more of your content, since there's a bit to talk about! I hope to see more AC videos, as well as maybe some ER co-op clips. But whatever you do, will be welcomed.

That location discrimination idea you had for Elden Ring is such a fantastic idea. It would at the very least help people avoid the main areas that have those three people sitting and waiting till you spawn to kill you. Soon as I heard you start going I was absolutely on board. Kudos on the travelling but by the way, that sounds like a blast. I think it's important to travel if you have the opportunity, as it helps you build perspective within yourself and your own life that a lot of people simply do not have. I found you by the Bloodborne Builds video (which helped me immensely, I ended up getting a Chikage build gemmed to the gills 'cause of that along with all the other types of builds mentioned), and I'm glad you didn't randomly vanish. It's good to see someone with as much passion as you have, means I'm gonna have oodles of stuff to watch and learn from.

Don't forget about subscribing for bangin music! Glad to hear you're doing some international travel. Vancouver is an awesome destination. My friends and I were in the same boat with having some Japan travel plans back on 2020 just before everything shut down. Finally we're starting to look at getting it set up again, nearly four years later. Traveling alone isn't so bad. You'll get used to it pretty quickly. Airports will start feeling normal after just one trip. See you in the next video! 😊 Also, at the end you were saying some things... I just want to say, invest in yourself too. Mental health is so important. I'm just some random commenter, so at the risk of sounding like im lecturing... 😅Getting out and traveling is great. Doing extra for yourself when you're at home is great too. Exercise is a depression killer, and you actually mentioned mushrooms too, which have been linked to lessening depression. I wish you luck and a fun trip 😁

I will be there day 1 to "so true bestie" all your rants if they don't do anything to improve the multiplayer experience with the DLC, we are SO CLOSE to something incredible here but the systems are just so plain and lacking in QoL or functionality. Also you absolutely should open up a second channel for clips, always happy to watch your shenanigans

Regarding your main channel, I would love longer form content, like the Bloodborne remaster/remake essay. An Elden Ring or Armored Core 6 Critique (or both!) would be nice. A "Beginner and Advanced Combat Tips for Elden Ring" - kinda like in the style of Rusty's Bloodborne combat tips video - would be cool too, especially with the DLC coming soon. You have a very nice voice.
@madserialkiller3394 Жыл бұрын
the problem i'm afraid of with an upped player limit in elden ring is the amount of spellcasting available and how it functions (repeated casting etc.) The 3v3 arena in elden ring showed exactly that (a team of three with gransax' or giantsflames), i think that's why it died out so quickly.. Imagine you invade and there's four people casting glintstone shower at you

Haven't gotten through the whole update yet, but I'll say this. I'm a big fan of your stuff. You've rarely, if ever, made a video that I didn't enjoy. So, keep it coming. A second channel with different stuff would be welcome in my opinion. I may not watch it all, if the game doesn't interest me...but then again I don't care about Ninja Gaiden 2, and just watched an hour of minutiae on it from Summoning Salt...so who's to say I wouldn't enjoy your stuff on games I don't normally care about. Enjoy your trip. Looking forward to whatever comes next from you. Edit : Damn man, you got heavy at the end. Hope that, and the sudden need for travel, isn't a result of tragedy for you.

As for the Elden Ring content, I do really miss and hope you bring back the "underrated" series of videos. Those initial videos were what got me into subbing and following along. Though I also enjoy the more "opinionated", well written and thought out responses such as the talk about Margit following Joseph Anderson's review as well as the near hour long response defending DS2's pvp to a barely 2 minute long snippet from Mauler's review. I do really enjoy AC6, but in my opinion I kinda feel it's a better game to play than it is to watch. A similar feeling to a lot of the games that came out this year such as FF16 and (most of) Baldur's Gate 3. That is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. I would really enjoy the prospect of a side channel. Montages, funny moments, and general game clips tend to do really well, especially with regard to gaining more eyes and attention on KZbin. Also I think it'll just be better for you overall. Variety is the spice of life. These are just my thoughts. Have fun and safe travels on your trip!

Yeah sure I'd watch more Jim, be that here or on a second channel. ALSO armored core 3 is a solid choice for emulation if you're willing to "sin" lol, it's pretty painless to get running and if you're a deranged lunatic that, for whatever reason, wants to use the right stick to control the camera, PCSX2 makes it pretty easy to get the game to recognize the directional inputs of the right stick as additional face buttons, allowing you to navigate the menus normally and giving you a twin stick shooter in game (additionally you get a camera d-pad outta your face buttons which is kinda neat) anyways enjoy your trip(s)! may you find your worth in the waking world

"Clip it, JM." I'm ambivalent about a second channel because on the one hand, it sounds like a great way to keep this channel dedicated to scripted, longer-form content, but on the other hand, I know second channels can be tougher to get off the ground. I think it depends on how much dormant content you're wanting to upload and how frequently; if you just want to do one clip per day or thereabouts, I'd say a second channel wouldn't strictly be necessary - I'd just recommend having a consistent name for the footage (e.g. "Clip It JM" for clips, "Uncut JMs" for any raw footage that's more than a few minutes, stuff like that, also don't use that second name it's dreadful lol,) and maybe having a thumbnail frame or banner so people can see at a glance "ah, a JM clip video." If you're wanting to upload lots of stuff, then I'd say a second channel is a good idea HOWEVER I personally don't care which one you do as long as it works out for you.

Upload all the smaller/side clips, but keep them on this channel! Even at a lower cadence rather than just uploading them all instantly, I think it just bogs down the subscriber and it keeps this channel's content centralized for new and oldcomers alike. No need to promote another channel either!

I don't know what to recommend. I made a side channel to post non souls shit, Movie commentary, VODs, travel vlogs, podcasts and clips because people like the long content on the main channel. Now people sub their for souls game clips and and the other stuff just kinda messes up the algorithm. Do I make a third VOD channel? Whose got time for that anyways. I guess I would recommend the 2nd channel, but you will feel the weird need to post actively to both and will also want to make a third channel. Gotta try and resist it lol.

This is my personal view, and I acknowledge I'm a weirdo and this might not be the popular opinion but: I hate side channels lol. They're annoying to keep up with and often just totally drop out of my feed totally and I forget about them. Alongside the fact I've seen so many youtubers start and abandon side channels after a year and return to posting side channel stuff on their main channel (leaving a lot of content stranded on a channel my brain will forget about and will occasionally have the link removed by from the main channel). I also just generally like eclectic youtube channels. The various shorter videos and vids of random other games on this particular channel are really enjoyable to me. I don't get annoyed if a channel that normally produces one form of video begins making stuff on other topics, at worst I just skip those videos, at best I get introduced to something I'll find interesting. This is how I became a huge From nerd, some random FPS youtuber I can't even remember the name of posted a DS3 video out of left field when it first released and I thought the game looked awesome. Big tar dragons bursting out of zombies, maggot people bursting out of zombies, and a timing based combat system like nothing I'd ever played, my 16 year old mind was blown. This sewed the seeds of my most hype moment 6 years later being a furry driving a hot robot yelling "I won't stop" and proceeding to utterly kick my ass after I thought I had finally killed him.
