J.M. thanks for this video very much.. extremely helpful..and thanks to others for " what happened in Komoda " follow up and direction to the location of the finale of tale.. J.M. your style is impeccable sir.. new subscriber now.. I swear you and Bob Gymlan ( bigfoot ish channel .. but more than that ) must be related.. the voice.. tone.. tenor..story narration.. intelligence and articulation and critical thinking... haven't looked at any of your other vids.. yet.. but you could easily do a video breakdown of every quest and side quest with opinions and insights.. why did this character do .. blank.. what did we miss .. ? Motivations and subliminal etc.etc.. thank God I didn't actually have to kill Lady Masako.. I was absolutely crushed when they both popped their hilts loose and thought no ..please 🙏 no...

Outstanding gambit
@frylord_krispy20 сағат бұрын
The definition of Gambit is "a device, action, or opening remark, typically one with a degree of risk, that is calculated to gain an advantage." Breaking the lock-on is the action and the advantage is being able to be at advance a bit safer without much fear of projectiles from 40ft away

Does unseen form have a similar effect in pvp?
@jmnthemКүн бұрын
It does! The biggest difference being, Unseen Form costs 20 FP to use VS Assassin's Gambit 5 FP. UF doesn't hurt you though. So for an INT-based build, you could make that spell work!
@BrokentwobuttonКүн бұрын
There's a KZbinr that put out half a dozen vids playing a high END low VIG ninja around Elphael and it looked incredibly fun. They combined gambit with unseen form and earth tone clothes and would go for backstabs or Waterfowl Dance mixing it up.
@VelumbraКүн бұрын
Fair advice but do be warned about free aimed nukes. I've seen a few interesting kills from hefty pots since they're easy to both use and slap onto any given build and whatever level. People will lob them over walls and from atop buildings or hills like their operating a mortar.

The real magic comes from using AG with the Unseen Form spell. Enemies can’t lock onto you at any range and are forced to fight you unlocked for the whole duration of the buffs. The sheer amount of gamers that just completely wet their pants and panic when their crutch lock on doesn’t work or call me a cheater or a hacker in DMs is crazy. I’ve had a handful of people just straight up disconnect after desperately trying to lock onto me too lmao. Two absolutely goated invasion tools for sure. Use the Old Lord’s Tali if you wanna be a little extra toxic.
@jmnthemКүн бұрын
IMO, the AG + Unseen Form interaction is only a funny novelty. It's two-fold, having 100% anti-lock-on is hilarious but unless you're able to win the fight in that short amount of time, you're going to have to rebuff yourself once both the spell and AoW wear out. What's more, you have to use up 25 FP each time (using AG and UF together), for less than 30 seconds of use (because you have to stack both buffs, losing yourself some precious seconds between them), requiring 16 INT (for Unseen Form), and having to have two different pieces of equipment on you at all times (a blade for AG AND a staff to cast UF). Going with Unseen Form (let alone trying to combine the two) is not something I recommend for every invader, unless you're playing a Int-focused build or hybrid. If y'all also enjoy invading at a high RL, like 200+ or even in the 301 bracket, maybe bringing the two would be a no-brainer because you ought to have the points to just have them whenever you want. But at a basic foundation, only using Assassin's Gambit and breaking players' lock-on goes a long way.
@Marx_D._SoulСағат бұрын
@@jmnthem Overall I'd agree, but I'd still rank it a bit more than just a funny novelty. The majority of players do *not* know how to effectively free-aim in melee combat, meaning they'll rarely ever get in more than a hit or two for those ~25 seconds (at least, in my experience). And it works even better on an int-caster build, as no matter how they choose to approach you, they'll still be massively disadvantaged, *and* you'll have Miriam's Vanishing to really fuck with their heads. It's a very niche tool, yes, but when used in the correct context it can completely shut down the majority of offensive pushes. It's sort of in a similar spot to how Comet Azur ranks in PvE, now that I'm thinking about it - it isn't consistently strong by any means, and you have to actively build around it to get the most out of it... but when it DOES work, it means victory.

A great feature that I think is worth mentioning is that casting the spell Unseen Form after Assassin's Gambit (has to be that order) makes you completely untargetable while both buffs last. This is a strong counter to most spellcasters.

Very essential, eliminates their near infinite ranged spam. Forces them to fight you short and low-medium range. Turns the game into DS3

very nice content, I aways have assasin's gambit on my builds but never know that the range drops so much. I need to use it more.
@Amir0Күн бұрын
7:00 Due to free aim vertical dead zones, assassins gambit may make it quite literally impossible for countless spells & skills to hit you with even the littlest difference in elevation (outside the reduced lock on range of course). I think this disproportionately (but appropriately) helps your average invader, as the home team tends to rely on and get way more mileage out of ranged options anyway (as once their attention is on the invader, it's much easier for them to offscreen the invader compare to vice versa, not to mention frame traps). Invaders are also more likely to be utilizing ranged tools that can be effectively free aimed (pots, greatbows, aoe spells), as they need them to actually hit targets who may attempt to evade their attacks (compare to pvers' targets, which for the most part will eat anything thrown at them).

Honestly, I love the idea of training people how to invade in elden ring since most invaders usually end up being skilled players like you or ChaseTheBro, or the more likely option of someone who is using every possible anti-gank exploit and loophole possible and isn't there for fun like the skilled players.

This is the kind of invasion advice I've been FIENDING for. I'm so used to watching youtubers like JeeNine and Steelofsky, where their gameplay is so mythodically mechanical and efficient. I was always so convinced that Elden Ring invasions are not even worth my time because even if I wanted to, I don't even have the time or the patience to learn and get that good at crowd-control and menu-swapping. But this one video alone has inspired me to bring out the stat-builder and start brainstorming build ideas again. Thank you J.M.
