Hunting: Warwickshire Police accused of 'cover up' by MP

An MP has accused Warwickshire Police of a ‘cover up’ over a secret deal they made with the Warwickshire Hunt.
Earlier this month we reported how a legally binding order was imposed on the hunt following reports that their horses and dogs were disrupting traffic.
We also reported that the order was replaced by a secret protocol between them and the police. That second deal now seems to have abruptly ended.
Our chief correspondent Alex Thomson has been speaking to hunting’s governing body to find out what it has to say about its image.
And a warning, his report contains distressing images.

Can you imagine taking young children to watch dogs ripping a fox to bits? I want to know why, when we know that exposure to animal cruelty has a long lasting impact on children, Social Services don't investigate these parents. A few years ago, a 2 year old child died when she fell off her pony at a fox hunt. A 2 year old. Parents got sympathy & ' it was a terrible accident' - yes, it was, but why was she there?

Thank you channel 4 for reporting on this. Though foxhunting is cruel, unnecessary and should have been consigned to the dustbin of history years ago, it is evidence of a greater malaise; that of the establishment being above the law. Hopefully, when the Tories are ousted, something will be done about it though frankly I am sceptical.

What's the difference between trail hunting and fox hunting?

Trail hunting is where a trail is pre-set often with a sent sometimes with a runner (a person runs ahead and the hounds follow his natural sent) and no actual foxes are hunted or harmed. I think most hunts are done legally but the media blow it out of proportion and try to make it look as if laws are being broken more often then they are.
