As the French prime minister warned that the far-right was now at the 'gates of power' - the country's left wing and centrist parties are frantically trying to stop that happening.
[Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe]
The National Rally emerged with 33% of the votes after the first round of voting - and a record turnout.
Now all eyes are focused on this weekend's second round - and whether the other parties will come to a tactical agreement to block them.

I’m not surprised at all, France is a country with double standards both at home and abroad. The migrants were welcomed into the distant ghetto away from the city and their children without good future while every workplace lacks diversity. People can always lie but numbers never lie, remember this. Shell should be hiring 10% locals but won’t even do that and somehow it’s the ethnic people’s fault when riots happen. Also, a right wing government may takeover but its French children who will feel the pain of upheaval and their building destroyed when problems starts because someone else child is left with broken heart and dreams.

What happens when a large section of society is arrogantly mocked, side lined and ignored for decades for merely wanting checks and balances put in place but if you dare say anything you are shouted into silence/submission, then labels of racist are slapped on people at lightning speed, merely for wanting what is best for your country. I'm French. For your information, those they call "left" is a coalition of all the parties of left and extreme left, it includes: The traditional left, the ecologists, France insoumise (extreme left), the communist party and the anti-capitalist party. Their ideas, if they come to power, include: releasing 20% of prisoners to relieve overcrowding in prisons, disarming the police, uncontrolled immigration, making it impossible for landlords to evict tenants who don't pay, even higher taxes for those who work and of course more money for those who don't, and many other things that would bring France to its knees. What we, the so-called extreme right, want is just to live in peace, safety and decency in our beautiful country, which has been stared at for some years now. The extreme left is a cancer for France and Europe, as you can see from their destructive and anti-democratic ideals and demonstrations, refusing to accept the people's choice.

Europe's swing to the left over the past 25 years has been a disaster, so the lefts response is to swing even further to the left, the past 5 years have been a nightmare. People are sick and tired of being sick and tired. In politics extremes breed extremes but I'm confident that a new Hitler is not hiding amongst National Rally. If anything Marine Le Pen's party has had to shift to center right to pick up 12M votes, its Macron supporters that are now far left globalist and open boarder extremists, they just dont know it. Perhaps if they look at their passports and its a dual national passport they might understand why the French people want their country ran by the French for the French.

Because the E.U. messed things up for everybody and needs to go into the trash bin of history. But don't worry, Le Pen will do as much for France as Giorgia Meloni has done for Italy, which is not much at all. In fact, Meloni softened her stance on immigration after having been elected. As much as I'd like to be wrong, I suspect it'll be the same with Le Pen. That's controlled opposition for ya. In my country of birth, Portugal, we have the phony CHEGA party that well-meaning people are hoping will set things right. But much like André Ventura's friends, Meloni and Le Pen, he too is just there to give us talk with little to no action toward real, positive change. The real option for Portugal politically are the ERGUE-TE party and HABEAS CORPUS.

He’s not saying anything outrageous. Sorry, but if you go to any country in the Middle East, you are expected, not asked, to respect their rules. How many countries allow Christians to worship safely? So if I go to your country I have to respect your rules, but if you come to my country it’s still me who was to respect your rules? No, it doesn’t work that way.
