@@realqualia7175 Sigh.. no. You are mistaking immigrants with refugees.. the two are VERY different. I say this as an immigration case worker. Let me briefly explain how it works, from the perspective of an immigration case worker that helps newly accepted IMMIGRANTS into my country of Canada. A typical application process for immigration here (and much of the western world) takes 9 to 11 years before someone is granted full citizenship. This isn't because the system is slow and inefficient (though that plays a small role.. but not why it takes 10 years).. it is because the country builds CENSUS data over time. We calculate approximately how many people are applying for citizenship in a given year... then we calculate how much HOUSING the nation currently can provide... how many HOSPITALS we have... how many DOCTORS we have... how much social assistance we can provide.. etc... we then use that data to make long-term forcasts about 10 years down the line and say: "We have _____ number of immigrants expected by 2034... We have _____ number of housing available today in 2024... We have _____ number of doctors and hospitals to take care of our people today in 2024.... In 2034 we will need _____ number of houses and hospitals and doctors to ensure all the new immigrants we accept have adequate homes and medical care." It takes TIME to build housing and essential facilities like hospitals. That's why we have immigration laws, to allow the country TIME to build for the future immigrants (and domestic growth of citizens), because you cannot snap your fingers and magically conjure new houses on the spot for people to live in. Refugees BREAK the system when there are too many of them. Suddenly you have 10x the number of people flooding into your country than what your predicted regular immigration census data planned for... which means now there is a shortage of housing, hospitals, etc... which drives up the cost of homes and living for EVERYONE, making the lives of citizens even harder, and the lives of immigrants or refugees impossible when a home costs 4x more than it should because the nation needs 20+ years to build enough homes for all the new people.

The migration problem would've never emerged if African nations remained under the European colonial boot that brought about peace and prosperity throughout the continent. Decolonisation was the genesis of the migration crisis that Europe is facing today

@@oneshothunter9877 It's too late. In the capital of my country, >30% don't have the local nationality. Note that this isn't counting those that were born here but have migrant parents. Count those and you're looking at near to 60%, and that was 5 years ago. In the second largest city of my country, statistics dating four months ago show that 72% of the children under 12 have foreign roots or have an actual foreign nationality. They are simply making so many more children than the original population that it's just a matter of time. That is, unless drastic measures (which are against EU law) like general deportation are taken. Actions that could have halted it or even mitigated it should have been taken one, preferably two decades ago. Exactly the same thing as with climate change, waaaaay too little, waaaaaay too late (not that we shouldn't do anything mind you, that's not what I'm saying)

@@BinaryBlueBull Yes. Seen from that pov it s in many ways a little late. But if illegal immigration is stopped it will make it easier to do something. I also live in Europe, but in a part not easy to illegally enter. Happy for that. Best wishes.

@@oneshothunter9877 I'm glad to hear that and I hope your country keeps it laws that way and keeps protecting its original population. Mass migration is destroying the fabric and social cohesion of my country from the inside. The crime statistics are absolutely insane. 40% of our prison population has a foreign nationality from outside the EU. And note that this doesn't include those born here to migrant parents. There aren't any statistics about those but I'm willing to bet if you count those you will get a number saying that the vast majority aren't the native Europeans. I'm glad that there are still countries protecting their original inhabitants. May I ask which country you live in? Poland by any chance? My home country is Belgium, though for work I live in Germany a few months each year. Both countries are suffering because of what is happening, the situation is the same

@@BinaryBlueBull I live in Greenland, born and raised here. Danish father, Greenlandic mother. Used to go for vacation every year from Greenland to Denmark while being a child. Later on when I was grown up I lived a few years in Denmark, but returned to my home town. Yes, I've seen Europe change since my childhood. I am a leftie politically, but...being a leftist doesn't mean that one has to think that Europe can save the whole southern world by taking them in. Especially those who doesn't even and/or try to follow the laws and rules in Europe - those who want sharia laws and such - only one way. Out! Greenland is part of the Danish kingdom/realm, but not a member of the EU, so we are not even obligated to take refugees. And we don't have the infrastructure to take a lot of people in. Impossible. Peace and quiet(-ish) - at least compared to big European cities. No gangs hanging around corners. We are in need of trained/educated people though. Come to Greenland 😉

It does do any good to talk to the migrants. You need to talk to EU politicians - we should be in charge of our own countries at least a short while longer.

DW you should be ashamed. While the voters in Europe vote more to the right then ever, you give us the feeling that we as citizens are the problem? Our societies have changed for the worst through all this migration. I think DW is payed by the NG organizations who live from the asylum crises. The EU is not obligated to take in more people. And the people of the EU don't have to welcome those refugees. So build the fortress EU fast!
