î dont get why people get angry for other people not having seen particular movies
@nephjd887 жыл бұрын
Because they attach their identity to them. Which is why you see a lot of people get offended when someone says they don't like something they do, which ends up feeling like a personal attack. Which isn't healthy.
@JayBiggz7 жыл бұрын
karottenkoenig only because they are all iconic films, which is obviously why this video series was made in the first place. She probably heard enough of it from the people she works for and then the idea came that hey I haven't seen all these iconic movies, that'll get people's attention and reason to have a standalone segment on channel awesome. Shouldn't be angry but no one would care if she never saw 50 first dates.

i feel like it's a terrific career choice..Im a musician and beyond my early influences I have done my best to stay away from mainstream radio telling me what is good and popular..I make a living making film and tv show soundtracks and playing in a few bands..but I feel it has only helped me be more me by not paying attention to what's in and just playing what I feel..same with Tamara..her acting choices are not influenced by the constant barrage of watching others act..or being told "this is what you should be doing"..her acting decisions are internal and not externally driven..love this series by the way

TheGoldenCaulk You need to watch 12 Angry Men. It's even better than Pulp Fiction. The performances haven't been topped since this movie which released in 1957. @Clinkety7 жыл бұрын
Dr.CookiesNeedLoveLikeEverthingDoes I have the opposite feeling. Pulp Fiction is one of the only movies which has convincing dialogue. They're talking about random stuff which immerses you in their world. One other thing that immerses you into the world of Pulp Fiction is the unpredictability. You've never seen an accident (car scene) like that in a movie. It's like the real world. It's unpredictable and accidents can happen, which never happens in other movies. These things make the world of Pulp Fiction one of the most realistic and immersive ever created.
@Clinkety7 жыл бұрын
Dr.CookiesNeedLoveLikeEverthingDoes Well, it's something that never happens in cinema. Movies must have some sort of structure, so there cannot be (m)any accidents. An accident like in Pulp Fiction is something that not many movies do. It feels real.
@Clinkety7 жыл бұрын
Dr.CookiesNeedLoveLikeEverthingDoes It just adds up you know. The dialogue and the accidents. It makes it feel real.

I started to get more into film critique and analysis when I was in college so I started to binge watch movies. Most people only watch a few movies a year and seldom go to the theater. Tamara is pretty normal in her movie going I think. She knows what she likes and didn't leave the comfort zone often. Most of us tuning into film critics on the internet are probably more frequent moviegoers by nature.

I think this is one of quentins best films. It is so different from a standard film, and he ties everything together in such a natural flow of events. The timeline skips all over heaven and earth but you are never left feeling confused, only surprised when you see how event xyz came to pass. "OOOH! Thats how they got the outfits? Ohhh! So THATS why the dudes wife looked like she couldnt make eye contact with jules?" etc etc etc. And they are almost all events that you only subconsciously even notice the first time you see it, but it acts like a callback anyways. Its a really neat effect.

To everyone using the "argument" "why is she on this channel, if hasen´t even seen ANY good film classics??1" I actually think that this is a very good segment for a movie-review channel, because not everyone is an expert on movies and can really relate to her. If I watch one of her reviews of a movie I have seen and loved, I really enjoy watching her experience it for the first time. Ricky VanDusen If it's a great movie the characters feel real. The goal of a filmmaker is to make the audience have an emotional response. Show a bunch of pretty pictures and you have Transformers, tell a great story that evokes an emotional response and you have Pulp Fiction. A good film is an experience, pretty pictures is B-Roll.

The guy who helps clean the car is played by Harvey Keitel. He's great. I feel he's especially born to play in Tarantino films.

Her parents watch this, I guess.

I'm assuming it's because it's on channel awesome rather than her own channel, though I've not had any confirmation on this...

Naonna Pryderi I'm also wondering this. Doug says fuck all the time on the same channel

She's said before it's because her parents watch the show and they don't like the swearing.

I mean, strictly speaking, cursing in a video can get your ad revenue taken or videos removed by youtube.

The theory I've heard about the case is that it contains Marcellus' soul, which is why it glows when it's opened, why people are completely taken aback and enamored when they see what's inside, and that's also why Marcellus has that band-aid on the back of his neck at the base of his skull. That spot being reference to a cultural myth (I think it's Native American...but I can't remember exactly), in that when a person dies, their soul leaves their body through that spot.

Hey Tam, if you like the way he interconnects the various stories of Pulp Fiction, you'll probably enjoy Four Rooms. It's similar in the structure, but a lot more comedy to it. It's one of my favorite films of his.

most of these movies I haven't seen either including this
@WheresPoochie7 жыл бұрын
But how old are you and how old is Tamara?
@WheresPoochie7 жыл бұрын
Exactly; if a teenager hasn't seen Pulp Fiction yet, it's perfectly understandable. If a 25 year old actress hasn't seen it, though, it's rather unexpected.

I love Uma too; Dangerous Liaisons kickstarted my puberty, though she was at her most beautiful in Henry and June, which also starred Maria de Madeiros. As for the wonderful Amanda Plummer (aka daughter of Christopher Plummer) her defining role was in "The Fisher King". Check it out if (because?) you haven't seen it.

Did she live in a bubble? Home alome, terminator, back to the future... you found a person with as little knowledge in cinematography as possible to be a co-host on a channel devoted to movie related content.

I had only seen bits and pieces of Pulp Fiction, but I finally watched it a couple weeks ago and I agree completely with everything Tamara said! It's a great film, totally love! Tamara, you need to see Kill Bill Vol.2!!! It's so good!
@aleflippy19977 жыл бұрын
So, you tell me that this girl has the chance to work with one of the most famous cinema critic on the internet and doesn't have the decency to at least know about some BASIC classic (which are mostly well-known and GOOD ) movies!? Couldn't Doug pick up someone who actually knows one third of the movie he's talking about?! I'm sorry to be harsh, I'm sure Tamara is not a bad person at all. But seriously...what's she even doing here!?
@chanolives90487 жыл бұрын
I had exactly the same thoughts. Plus she could have the decency to wear a longsleeve.... 😂
@aleflippy19977 жыл бұрын
Now that doesn't bother me. She could wear a chicken costume if she wished! Anyone can wear whatever he wants to , y'know? No but seriously, I'm not really one of those "everyone likes it, so you must like it. Everyone does it, so you must do it" kind of guy. But when you're supposed to be an expert in a subject, you NEED to know about the classics... I'm an amateur writer, so even if I can't read every book in existence, there are some I just can't pass.
@chanolives90487 жыл бұрын
Of course i was just kidding about the shirt. :-D Yep! I agree, especially considering that she's the "right-hand woman" of a (mostly) movie "critic".
@BritishCommentWriter7 жыл бұрын
Are you really that surprised? She was hired as a glorified extra for the Nostalgia Critic episodes after Demo Reel tanked when they had fuck all money left. Do you really think the selection process was all that rigorous? It would've been 1). Has tits 2). Is willing to do it and 3). Is prepared to work for what Walker was offering, and I'm sure they'd have been wiling to compromise on number 1.
