A very good ass movie that really bring out the best of what South Park was during that era. I would love to Trey and Matt do a other theatrical South Park movie one day, a sequel to this. They have 26 seasons, two hit video games like three streaming specials. I can see them doing a sequel if and when they wanted to and could at any time.

I saw this in the theater the weekend it came out. During the "Uncle F%$ker" song, the crowd in our actual theater got up and started leaving, along side the crowd in the movie getting up and leaving. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. My entire face hurt from laughing when I left the theater.

There were 12 year olds in the theatre, and their parents let them sit through all the gore, violence, and swearing in the beginning... right up until him and his girl start bangin' and then it was like a mass exit, again, there were signs EVERYWHERE about what was in the film. I couldn't help but laugh.

When I was 12, my older sister called the school pretending to be our mom and we skipped school to see this movie in the theater together. I cannot believe I was allowed in. It’s a great memory.

I Love hove how Trey and Matt got the last laugh. Every time the MPAA told them to edit a scene, they made it 5 times worse and 10 times longer because the censors had to see it again. And it was approved. They jokingly stated that the MPAA made the movie much dirtier than it originally was. This was in their Conan O'Brien interview.

This was one of Mary Kay Bergman’s final roles before her death. It was and still is impressive that she played pretty much all of the female characters on South Park, as well as being one of the major voices of our childhood. It’s really nice to know that, according to her husband, the premier of this movie was one of the happiest moments of her life. While she may have left us to soon, her talent and influence will never be forgotten. ❤️

Fun fact about the uncle fucker song. It was originally mother fucker but the mpaa said it was going to be an NC-17 film rating unless they changed the lyrics. South Park choose uncle instead of mother and it went back down to R. Comes to show how absurd the rating strengths is all while having a movie have comedy commentary on censorship.

Dude, during my senior year of high school, my theater class went to NYC, and one of the shows I saw was The Book of Mormon. I have never laughed harder in my entire life. I even have a script of the show, and got the entire cast to sign it. My teacher stayed with me the entire time after the show to get the autographs. It was awesome.

The Kenny face reveal in the movie makes the first Mysterion "reveal" so much funnier because the only feature we knew Kenny had was blonde hair. They only ever showed us Mysterions face which made it hilarious when everyone else knows but they blue ball us with the knowledge since all the kids have the same face to us. Honestly a great follow up to the movie gag.

Also the boys relationship has changed with cartman becoming worst while the boys and most of the characters softening. So now cartman instead of being a bad friend he is usually just the antagonist who the boys remain friends with because of the status quo. This does allow for some great episodes of cartman Vs Kyle but at ot makes all the more ridiculous and hard to believe they would ever put up with cartman especially since cartman and Kyle aren't even friends.

The urge to do this is what people now call trauma bonding. It's just that this dynamic is usually the one you see in girls around the "queen bee" in movies. The people around are only "friends" with her because they believe she'll torment them less because of it.

The censorship drama gets more and more relevant every year. Last year I went to a “Weird Al” Yankovic concert where he told a story about one of his songs, One More Minute. A couple of lyrics included the phrase “I’d rather lick all the toilets in Grand Central Station with my tongue”. The censors told him this wasn’t appropriate for the music video version of the song, so they replaced it with “I’d rather lick all the toilets in Grand Central Station with my BLEEP”. “That’s actually worse!” He joked. So ironic in that trying to fight for censorship some inadvertently make something that SHOULD be censored.

What I always remember about this movie is the quiet, almost sweet song to open, which made me question whether they had been completely Neutered by the MPAA. And then "Uncle Fornicator" began. And all was right with the world.

I am glad you touched on this film. It is one of the most ingenious films ever made, and the one time Meta actually worked. The musical numbers are still timeless and feel like a Disney film than Disney at the time. The lyrics and orchestration were brilliant. One thing you mentioned about Butters not being in it, well, Butters was actually not named yet. It is 3 episodes after this film came out until Butters was finally named and finally made into a character. During this time, he was only a Background kid and Pip was the pawn of 4 boys. Even Trey and Matt said that if they made another film, it would focus more on Butters.

I was 12. I was just paying attention to the cursing 🤬 and shenanigans of the movie. My 19yr old sister was breaking the jokes down to me while Cracking up at it. When my step brother (who never saw the movie 🎬) heard the Kyle's mom song he was dying laughing 😃 through the whole song. Why? Because on the shows the songs are usually slow but this one was fast, full of cursing, and dissing a mother which is outrageously random and new.

Boycotting and cancel culture are two completely different things and the fact that so many people don't understand that is troubling. A boycott is when a group of people have a grievance with someone or something and use the power of withholding their money or time to affect change. Cancel culture is when a group of people have a grievance and demand the government or any authority to step in and stop or eliminate the thing they don't like. It often involves people going out of their way to dig up someone's decade-old tweets that nobody thought were controversial at the time, but which may trigger the sensibilities of modern crybullies. It is a completely manufactured outrage cycle perpetrated by terminally online activists who want to ruin people's lives for fun. Boycotts target corporations. The customer is always right, so it is always the corporation's own fault if they have isolated and angered a substantial portion of their consumer base.

Regardless of who's doing them, cancelling and boycotting are two different things. Boycotting is personally abstaining from a product, company or creator. It comes with social pressure, ie telling others they should join you, but that's where the influence ends. It's essentially you participating in the free market and choosing to lower demand on your end. Cancelling is attacking the success of the product OUTSIDE of the free market, trying to make it fail by pressuring other factors that help it succeed, like employers or potential income sources, regardless of the demand that exists for it. The Hogwarts Legacy boycott was just a boycott until people started harassing streamers for enjoying the game, then it became a cancellation attempt.

I saw this the summer of my freshman year of high school in the theater. The only two people there were me and my dad, who was an even bigger fan of South Park than I was at the time. Hearing Kenny say, "Goodbye you guys", not knowing if he would be there for the next season (or if there would even be a next season) was a legitimate heartfelt moment, and one that I will always cherish. I bought the soundtrack to the movie, and listened to it so many times the CD finally died, but not before every song on it is forever committed to memory. This is likely top 20 favorite movie for me.

I grew up on British TV in Canada and The Simpsons would not have been possible without Tracey Ullman. The Tracey Ullman Show introduced The Simpsons to American (and Canadian) audiences. She's best known for Tracey Takes On in the 90s and she had a small but memorable role as Latrine The Witch in Robin Hood: Men In Tights. She also had a hit song, "They Don't Know," which was a cover of a 70s song, but in 1983 she turned it into a throwback to Motown. It's really good and Paul McCartney makes a cameo in the video.

Another Fun Fact about this amazing Film: The original trailer, which took jabs at Walt Disney and animation in general, was hated by Trey Parker and Matt Stone who called it, "Everything we didn't want the film to be." Matt Stone was so upset he dismantled the videotape of the trailer, threw it in the trunk of his car, and then told the production crew in anger to "do it again."

I was a huge South Park fan as a kid and I still am one. I had a lot of pieces of merch, and then when I heard that this movie was going to be a thing, I asked my older brother to take me. I saw "Oklahoma" on stage when I was a tween - and later listened to the show's soundtrack over and over - so I caught all the references to it in the songs. "Mountain Town starts out a lot like "O What a Beautiful Morning," "Uncle F***a" has a spelling-out at the end just like the title song, and "It's Easy, Mmkay?" has roughly the same meter as "The Farmer and the Cowman." I've also noticed that "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" sounds a lot like (appropriately enough) "Jesus Christ Superstar."

What people also forget at the time because of all the fighting against the Censors, and only being into 2 seasons when this was being made. This was the creators giving everyone the birds. Putting everyone on blast, and if they truly were going to get canned because of all these groups against them they wanted to do it in the best way they can. I hope this review isn't a sign that Doug's gonna start censoring his Nostalgia Critic videos. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to KZbinrs is when they become so paranoid about getting demonitized that they start walking on eggshells and resorting to self-censorship, often while going "LOL, we can't say/show that on KZbin." Swearing and inappropriate jokes in general have always been the biggest source of humor for the Nostalgia Critic, and it would be a huge shame if Doug started bowdlerizing his most popular show. Besides, most Nostalgia Critic videos are already sponsored, so I don't see why Doug needs to worry about losing money.

Meanwhile, other channels like Cinema Sins, Smosh, PhantomStrider, Joshscorcher, The Completionist and Spaberspark have been censoring themselves since the dawn of KZbin. There is also Helluva Boss which has characters constantly swear and, once again, Vivziepop hasn't been demonitized once. A Boycott and Cancelling are not the same thing. A Boycott is not buying from a company. This affects a corporation or business. Canceling is a person being silenced and shunned from society. This affects an individual. If you work at a company that's being boycotted and it's having an affect on your life, you can get work elsewhere. If you're cancelled and it's affecting your life, you can't get work anywhere.
