Invert can target up to two creatures. Reid's opponent targeted both of Reid's creatures, which caused the electrostatic field to die because it is a 0/2 turned to a 2/0. The fire urchin is a 1/3 with 2 damage on it, so it dies when it becomes a 3/1 with 2 damage on it. Arena's interface makes this confusing, because it shows the temporary toughness of a creature when it sustains damage. As a result the fire urchin appeared to be a 1/1 when it was actually a 1/3 with 2 damage on it. Hope this clarifies!

Love your content, Reid, keep 'em coming! The low framerate wasn't unwatchable but could be improved by lowering graphics settings. Also I have to say the drafting AI seems pretty bad. I definitely prefer MTGO over Arena for this reason among others.

Hehe :P was actually unnecessary since they made it so if you have a league guildmage (or Expansion/explosion/other copy effect) and put an instant or sorcery on the stack, it auto holds priority even without full control mode. For Arena they're paying a alot more attention to quality of life improvements than they did with duels.

MTGA misrepresents damage dealt to a creature. Urchin is a 1/3 that has taken 2 damage. By switching its power and toughness, it is now a 3/1 creature that has taken 2 damage, which means it's dead. Unfortunately, MTGA decides to display damage by removing health of a creature until end of turn, so you would think it's a 1/1 that just gets switched around to 1/1 and stays alive. That's not how magic works though. When MTGA displays it as a 1/1, it is in reality still a 1/3 with 2 points of damage, so switching power and toughness will kill it.

Reid maybe just set all graphics settings to minimum? I don't know what rig is being used, but my computer is pretty old but runs the game smoothly at min settings, slightly lower fidelity in exchange for none of the jarring FPS loss seems like a big win.

P1P1 I would go for beacon bolt.. It is really easy to enable and mid-to-late game is basically a double unconditional removal, which can swing any board state. I often found direct current too red heavy in manacost and too slow. Also bodyguard over guildgate for control-ish izzet deck is a very questionable pick.

I paused before each pick to guess what to take. I was off of your pick order by P1P3. My error was to take cards of higher power in a vacuum but much less synergistic.I would have ended up with a higher curve, less synergy, and 1-3 (again). I think I learned something important. Gotta keep the curve low in limited.

Electrostatic Field, Goblin Electromancer and Sonic Assault together in a control build have been great for me. Tap their evasive/mentor threat (or whatever the Field can’t blank) twice, plus 6 damage to the dome, for 4 mana total.

Asked at my lgs and what happens is that the damage persists until the end of turn, invert make it a 3/1 with 2 damage assign to it aka dead

@mindless monk I do like Golgari a lot, but I find it the worst guild together with selesnya. Green cards in this set are the worst and I would say that Boros is at least the third best guild. Anyways, these are just my opinions. What would be your p1p1 tho?

Nicolas Landau artful takedown exists at common. 6 drops need to be very strong and not trade with common cheap removal that also allows the opponent to tap your best creature all at instant speed. That's a 1.25 for 1 at common rarity vs the best guild in format

There is just no world in which that p1p1 can be right. A common you can get multiples of will never be as important as speculating on a bomb/very good removal spell like beacon bolt or artful takedown. the upside is so high by taking a gold card versus a good but not amazing common.
