word of advice to any and all aspiring blue control players. In the control mirror, really any match up, but the control mirror in particular. If your opponent is moving to discard, LET THEM.

Extraplanar Lens seems pretty awesome in this deck. It gives you such an edge in any kind of mana war if it sticks.

you can prevent it from helping your opponent by playing snow covered islands. Lens specifically states that lands with the same name as the one exiled get the additional mana bonus.

I am not 100% convinced that banning Baral does anything. J:VP might just step in either with polymorph or high tide. I could see some of the premier refill cards in Dig or Cruise getting the axe

If Baral is banned, we'll see similar decks with Jace, one of the Teferis, or Venser at the helm. Mind you, there were a lot more Barals played, yet Wanderer-superfriends and Drana-discard/aggro did just dandy. This format is far from solved.

not really. Its basically french with some differences in ban lists. I suspect delve spells and some fast mana will get banned. Jace vp will fill in the spot of baral.

Sure banning Baral might not be enough but I don't think the alternatives are quite as oppressive.

Duel Commander is much different from multiplayer. This deck wouldn't be overpowered against more than one opponent.

Doesn't help the supposed health of this format that they apparently used the normal banlist instead of the 1v1 one. Strip mine is totally fair.

They are in the Duel Commander paper banlist, the MTGO one is separate at the moment.

Thank goodness 1v1 commander isn't a real thing. This deck might be great here but it's useless in actual commander games with 3-4 players.
