That's basically playing Jund in a nut shell to be fair though. You either draw the wrong half of your deck, get mana screwed, or you draw everything you need and win.
@TheGingervit1s6 жыл бұрын
@@NewFemtex if you break it down that way, doesn't it just apply to virtually every deck in modern? If Hollow One draws all of its payoffs (hollow ones, phoenix, angler, etc) but no discard outlets they'll lose the game, but if they have the nut draw they'll win. On the opposite end of the spectrum you have UW Control where you can get mana screwed or draw the wrong half of your deck (terminus and path against KCI/Tron or countermagic against humans) and lose terribly as well. Every deck has those problems, some more pronounced than others

G2 op: "I wish there was a choke for jund colors." While not game ending, blood moon can definitely cripple the Mana base of Jund...
@TheGingervit1s6 жыл бұрын
Blood moon doesn't affect jund's basic lands though the way choke does so if they can fetch around it they'll be fine (all you really need is basic swamp and forest and you can always trophy, decay or pulse the moon if it gets played). Choke is a lot more punishing since you can't fetch around it and have to have enough colonnades/fortresses in play
@lindsayssbm6 жыл бұрын
@@TheGingervit1s that's fair, but of all decks in modern, Jund not only plays 24-25 lands but more lands that aren't fetches than any other deck (2-3 man lands, 1-2 black filters, and fast lands.)
@lindsayssbm6 жыл бұрын
@@TheGingervit1s in other words yes, it does not affect jund's basic lands. blood moon doesnt attack basics, it attacks greedy mana bases, which jund has a relatively greedy manabase because it wants to be playing 3 colors with double black on curve, as well as wanting an abundance of green mana for ooze.

I wonder why Reid considers burn a bad matchup for Jund. It seems like the deck has a lot of tools to dismantle burn's plan even without specific hate cards. Scavenging ooze is incidentally great, for example.
@p0stalweight6 жыл бұрын
yeah, I don't think its horrible, it just can be pretty hard to win if they have a decent hand. The fetches and shocklands really hurt, dark confidant is really bad, Lilliana is slow. Partially he has no sideboard cards at all for burn which is why he was saying it wasn't a good matchup, collective brutality for example is an awesome card against burn.

@@bankruptjojo5009 well bloodbraid is on the stack until anger resolves so technically if the opponent has small guys, bloodbraid angers away their board and then the creature resolves to hit them for 3.. kinda sweet in that instance
@lindsayssbm6 жыл бұрын
Of course I see your guys' point, but both instances you guys mentioned involve BBE which isn't close to the best card in a matchup that Anger is good in. Sure you can Cascade into it, but potentially exiling your current board completely shuts off the primary reason Kcommand is good. You guys are suggesting that BBE is good in that matchup when it isn't.
