I am so sorry for this man. He did not keep it all this time just for money. He and his father thought they were keeping history safe, and how do you find out who to trust to bring it out? How do you think he feels? Sheesh! "So where do you think you'll go from here? You must have thought about it since the last news, as a possibility?" Would have been more appropriate, so much for using your words, bet she went to college, but has not yet been educated, don't follow the pack, lead it. :0

Firstly, the estate duties on such 'scrap metal' is amazing: nothing. And getting these verified for 'free' after hoarding it, is hardly great asset management, letting such scrap pieces deteriorate as well. After all, one uses the word 'treasure' in a subjective manner. What I do find horrific is the state of deterioration, which is as good and destroying rather than saving the pieces. That is truly heartbreaking. I am sure a few of the better pieces have already been sold by the family. If Dawn Tan was really an 'investigative reporter' as CNA claims her to be, she would have also checked what items from these collection have been 'disposed' off secretly, leaving only these. The fact is, if these are verifiable artefacts, it is not simply about monetary value as these provide historic cultural evidence. So odd, to my mind: politics and foreign policy aside, we have the Asian Civilisations Museum here, with nothing comparable with the Palace Museums and other great museums in Europe, but here in Singapore, these were simply hoarded by private individuals and not even as a 'Collection'. Seems irresponsible. Dawn is naive: why didn't she investigate other pieces abroad with similar provenance? For all we know, the 'red guard' story may be a red herring. For all we know these were held in trust for someone and the contact has since been lost... But it all seems like a joke as the documentary goes on... No wonder there were some pieces like these at CashConverter! 😭

The bronzes are vintage reproductions. These days better copies are made, which take more care to mimic the correct form, chemical composition and patination.

He gave away himself with the french guy. I think they already knew the answer from the start. But its either the editing or how they scheduled each consultation is what seems staged.

+Kelvin Yeo we can honestly say this wasn't staged and our journalist Dawn Tan did not know how this was going to pan out. This documentary was also her quest to uncover the truth behind the statues
