Nothing is free in this world. He was not charging consultation fee because he knew that his medical opinions were irrelevant. Worthless opinion is of course free. Only a sucker would pay for that.

@@user-rg8yr6wm6z I'm not convinced. There are so many people around the world living an equally healthy lifestyle but very few of them have the genetics / luck to make it to 90 let alone still be healthy at 93. The top 4 causes of death in the world (WHO) are all things hugely affected by genetics
@user-rg8yr6wm6z
@user-rg8yr6wm6z 5 ай бұрын
@@ryan-ci9sl3mt3j I was referring to his looks and brain health/cognition as stated in the original comment. Both of those can be controlled with diet and exercise (plus sun protection in regards to looks). However, I'd agree with you that you can be unlucky and get some random cancer at a young age, likely as a result of genetics.

I’m not one for sitting around anyway so the thought of trying to keep busy for 40 hours a week in retirement terrifies me. May as well do something useful and get paid for it as well. There are plenty of jobs that people don’t want to do so getting work should be easy.

We are all so different. Three of my grandparents ate greasy fried food and smoke their whole lives and lived active lives into their late 90s. One grandparents didnt smoke but drank, but had a heart attack and died at 78. My own parents didnt drink or smoke and my mother passed at 72 from Alzheimer's and my father lived until 96. Its really hard to tell just what helps you live a long life. Some things might help, but there is no guarantee.

I actually secretly like stories of people who did everything "bad" (eating fried good, smoking etc) and still lived to a ripe old age.
@anglo-saxonconnor817
@anglo-saxonconnor817 6 ай бұрын
I never believed in diet alone though diet and exercises do contribute greatly to the well being and longevity of a person but it is not a guarantee to a long life. I got two things I wish to point out here. All your grandparents and even your parents all lived to a ripe old age in their lives. Whether they suffered or have enough in their lives to go without regrets is another private matter though and I do wish they lead a good eventful life. The final thing I wish to share with people here is after a certain stage in life after we are past middle age and have experience the 3 hardships of life we start to have a choice of wish. This is told by me by older people who are on the verge of death. That choice or wish is our will. The will to see whether it's enough and okay to leave or it's not enough yet and people want to hang on longer to see some more things and loose ends done instead. Willpower play a role in people lifespan and longevity. I don't remember much about the so called 3 hardships of life though. It is described by religions and I need to refreshed on it to write it out in details. Namely the first hardship is one go into great danger or suffering without any preparation and idea they are entering it and manage to survive and come back to safety afterwards and the aftermath realisation set in later and then people realise what they have went through and how it have change the way they look at life and people. This process is painful once it is set in. The second hardship is after knowing and understanding what the first hardship is about people have to undergo it yet again only this time with a new found and gain insight meaning this process will not be easy either. Third hardship is about letting go. The hardest of all.

Genetics play a huge part in it too. My Mum had lived a pretty healthy lifestyle but has terminal cancer at the age of 63. All the women on her Mum’s side of the family passed at a similar age or younger. Living healthy helps but sometimes you’re just dealt a card and there’s not a whole lot you can do about it.

True testimony that age is just a number. What's important is what you do that makes you happy. Doesn't work for everybody, but if it does for you, take advantage of it for better mental health.

So long life, in good health, unending love for what one's doing... to begin with. Rare. In any case of ripe old age whether the continued passion is work, hobby, etc, it's more of an exception rather than the norm. To each his own. What is the lifespan of the populace here n elsewhere in the world, their state of physical n mental health? This doctor is a blessed man in those respects though.

My lecturer in Medical School. Kind , patient and methodical man. I agree with him in old school practice without the computer. You diagnose by looking , smell and feel. One of old school doctors who practises the Hippocrates oath ! - willie

My daughter works for a 96 lawyer! She’s staying there because she enjoys working for him! I recon we all will be working till 99 in the future because we’re living longer, and healthier.

It is a blessing when you can still have a professional job,health, mobility and mental calrity at this age. It is a nightmare for those who lacked these otherwise. Anyway mount Elizabeth still have several very old doctors in it and they are all still apparently healthy and working fine from what i know.

Quite fine actually. Born in a family of wealth and well to do kins and live in the best type of houses and use the best kind of things in life. Just a bit bored by this point already after learning out of a lifetime of good experiences. How are yours my dear? My life resemble Siddhartha. The life arc In case people are wondering. For others who come with good intentions my sincere heart and prayer for all of you. For those who come with daggers I can't be harmed and affected anyway and I too can wish you all the same prayer in life too. Life can drag regardless if one have a good life or bad life. Don't let people mislead you into thinking otherwise. 🙂
