Thank you for putting in the effort to make this, Beauty World is like my second home and it was wonderful to see someone capture the unique feel of the mall. Actually would've loved to hear from more people, like the curly hair Aunty at macs who was there before their facility was "upgraded" (always wondered if they did that to attract more customers, as well as if they were affected significantly by KAP macs closure), the new-age hawkers like Butakin and hanbaobao (regarding their thoughts on moving into a food court where business is not amazing, especially interesting since hanbaobao just shut down operations recently), and the occupants of Beauty World Plaza (which is an actual ghost town) like Lucky Star Barbers and the upholstery lady. I'll definitely be checking out the nice tailor uncle soon, once again, well done!

I would be sad if the mall ever closes down because I’ve been going to that mall since I was a kid in 2008 and going there to the old Mac Donald’s, music lessons and buying toys, beauty world would always have a place in my heart ❤️

I don't think this shopping mall will close down anytime soon. Recently I went to visit beauty world centre and a lot of old aunties and uncles selling clothes or toys have changed hands. The building has become a tuition centre building and more and more tuition centres are taking over the old trades. Actually it's also good to see these tuition centres popping up as previously it was like a ghost city. With all these tuition centres popping up, they help the mall to revitalise and more younger couples with their children come over the weekends.

When I was first came to Singapore as an international student in Ngee Ann Poly, it is the place that i will never forget. The supermarket at basement, Mc Donalds second floor, and there was a small shop that sell computer games make me feel so joyful. all those memories was 30 years. As time past away, i would be very sad if this place close down...

The only way to increase traction and attract such oldfangled mall to younger community is to bring in artistic, hippy, cultural and relevant experience to connects the younger generation. Example, The Projector in Golden Mile, and how The Working Capitol transform an old building to hippy co-working space. More up to date fashion store, cafe etc. Generally retail business is not doing well, even the ones in Orchard Road. With so many e-commerce and big internet entertainment platforms, its time for the mall to think of a more creative approach to get people out of their homes.
