The history of Heinz Field playing “Renegade” goes all the way back to 2002 when the Steelers were down 24-7 against the Browns and things were looking bad. The production team played the hit song and the Steelers made a stop, the offense responded with a touchdown and Pittsburgh went on to beat the Browns 36-33.

Me and friend met Coach T at this corner store in S Oakland a couple years.ago. We were both paralyzed but he could see us looking at him and said what's up guys. I just had to say.. I’m a helicopter mechanic for the life flight service Healthnet. I say this because it’s been a crazy couple of nights. Spent last night on the rooftop of upmc Presby and tonight at our home base in moundsville, WV (it’s 3am and just got home) doing maintenance to get the helicopter up & going again. But this show has kept me entertained, kept me awake, and just all around interested the last couple nights for the rides home and I just have to say thank you! What you’re doing is great stuff and please keep it up! And know you’re making a difference to those you might not know about even in the off-season!

The history of Renegade comes from the 02 playoffs against the browns…we were down 24-7…they played Renegade and then the defense made a key stop…offense went down and scored and the Steelers won 36-33….and it became a tradition…cause you know us Yinzers love a tradition

Then, I know you probably don't read these but I'm so glad that despite how unappreciated you were and are by too many of Steelers nation members that you decided to do this podcast. Because devoted fans like me who watch you in Miami sitting in a bar in Colorado crying because the Raiders were going to get you with the second pick as I was sitting with the Raiders fan. That night we gave you the nickname Slingenberger, obviously because of the way you were singing that rock that game. I believe it was a bowl game or a Mac Championship game and I'm pretty sure it was in the snow. Fast forward to April and see now Al Davis was picked Robert Gallery, that's when my brother and I started looking at teams between them and us and we figured the only team that would take you would be Houston because the Browns had just given Garcia a few million dollars for a couple years and we didn't think they would pick you. You would not believe the celebration we had when we picked you! I turn to my brother and I said We just won the Super Bowl! We will win the Super Bowl with this effing kid! I had tears of joy that day and tears of sorrow on your last day. And I enjoyed every minute of watching you play. Some people say you're not the best quarterback ever, I replied No he's the best football player ever! Miss Erin may have told you about myself and my brother, and we're relieved that you stayed in the area at least for now and I hope forever! Continued success in all of your advantages endeavors!

It would be awesome if you guys brought some of the new Steelers on the show like Cole Holcomb, Roberts, Pat Pete, and the new interior lineman like Herbig is already a great personality from his interviews. Also truly in my opinion our Middle Linebacker room got so much better this off-season. Roberts and Holcomb are great tacklers with good blitz ability I'm very excited with what we've done.
