There is no true democracy in Nigeria yet, for me. The beneficiaries are not interested in that and are doing everything to hold on to this status quo. Please note that conduct and body language are more true that words of mouth and grammar. For me, the fact that INEC is not interested for everyone or most eligible Nigerians to vote during elections, is a pointer. This could be seen in its horrible tacit refusal to make voter registration and issuing of voters card, a continuing exercise. This is because the players are not interested and see this as a threat to their stay in power. The opposition is blind to this most important vehicle to power. Every election time, INEC reluctantly opens 2:33 a small window, to issue few voters card😂😂😂😂😂 just to be seen to have fulfilled that duty, when in fact it ought to have been issuing them daily since it's creation, non-stop. That is it's most important duty, not conduct of elections: people must first be registered before there can be voting. Nigerians are wiser than people think.

I disagree with your guest with respect to the Opposition Leaders/Parties providing the ruling party solutions to Nigerian problems. The role of the Opposition is point out where the government is going wrong and maybe what they (Opposition) would do instead. If the Ruling Party is devoid of ideas, they can consult the Manifestos of the Opposition Parties for ideas. In any case, Peter Obi in his New Year messages, suggested to the President a few first steps to take in order to understand the state of the nation. The knowledge would benefit the President in his pronouncements for the way forward. I thought that was commendable of Peter Obi; “President to do these…..” 1. Go to each State and spend at least 2 days 2. Go to our Hospitals 3. Go IDG Camps 4. Visit most of the Ministries and spend time with those who will implement your policies 5. Visit our Power Stations, NNPC, etc. We the public can tell the President what to do if his team have no ideas. Most importantly, CUT THE COST OF GOVERNANCE!!
