1. STEAMPUNK AESTHETIC. WHAT MUSICAL HAS STEAMPUNK AESTHETIC. ST
2. Hades being excited about something
3. THE BEAT DROPPING AT HADES’ PART
4. Hades saying lover
5. My joy of realizing he doesn't just have a wife for the heck of it but actually loves her is immeasurable
6. Hades yearning for Persephone and singing in high octave to match her
7. What's with Patrick Page and hell and fire
8. The “khh” sound that I had an absolute blast with
9. Switching back and forth btwn Persades and Orphydice
10. I thought Orpheus was being ridiculous at first but now his la la la makes me wanna cry in a corner. He is literally me when I’m animating
11. Redundant to say but Eurydice’s voice is so clear and pretty
12. The trombone at the end of E’s first verse
13. Concerned Hermes
14. The sad music at Eurydice’s last verse that grinded my heart and soul together in a blender
15. How u feel bad for Hades but also understand Persephone
16. [redacted]
17. HOW ALL OF THE MELODIES COME TOGETHER AT THE END

ironically tho, persephone isnt disturbed by the underworld necessarily bc its cold and dark. shes disturbed bc Hades has perverted the natural cold and darkness, as seen when she says "it aint right and it aint natural." Since she is a nature goddess, it makes sense that she would understand and even appreciate the natural dark and cold of winter/fall/hades. Hades has misread her entire character to satisfy his own anger at the fact that persephone has her own life/desires and has to "fly away", unlike his posessions

It seems to be more like he’s insecure about her preferring the surface to the Underworld, so he brings aspects of the surface down underground. Unfortunately, he seems to have forgotten that he married the literal goddess of spring, and Persephone was not having his industrial kingdom.
@animeguardianxx
@animeguardianxx 4 ай бұрын
@@midnight_rose2337an interesting bit about that is that in older stories, Persephone isn’t a pure Spring goddess, but an underworld one. Chthonic Persephone was the queen of the underworld also with ties to Demeter and Poseidon. Makes me wonder if Hades loves that part of her. Maybe that’s even how they met.

I see it more as Hades trying to bring summer to Hadestown to please Persephone, since as she points out in her lyrics, her time in Hadestown is the coldest and darkest time of the year. So Hades tried to make Hadestown warm and bright for her so that she wouldn't leave come summertime since it would already be "summer" down in Hadestown. Of course, since he didnt talk to her about it and they have a lack of proper communication both ways, everything goes wrong.

yeah he was trying to make it warm and bright so it was more like summer on the surface but she didn't like it because it was artificial, and because he did it without asking her. If she's going to be spending six months out of every single year of her immortal life down here, she at least wants an opinion on how it looks and functions.

@victoriaburroughs8399
@victoriaburroughs8399 10 ай бұрын
I love that detail too. I’ve always interpreted Orpheus ignoring Eurydice as less an act of self-absorption and selfishness but rather him acting on a divine compulsion that he can’t ignore. He’s the son of a Muse after all (the literal manifestations of creation and dedication to the arts). It’s literally in his nature to become obsessed by the divine melodies running through his head. This particular melody was of extreme importance as well (the balance of nature itself was on the line), so I think that adds to the theory that he literally cannot stop playing until he completes it. The moment he’s free of his trance, he goes to find Eurydice, presumably to tell her first of his accomplishment and check on her. Needless to say, I’m an Orpheus apologist, so I choose to believe this theory rather than the “Orpheus was an immature, self-obsessed dick who ignored his desperate wife so he could finish his mixtape” theory lol.

You can tell that Hades and Persephone still love each other but Persephone is frustrated because Hades wasn't the same man he was when they first met, and he tries to "provide" her with the kinds of things she wants like light and heat even though he knows it isn't what she truly wants. And Orpheus thinks he is still there for Eurydice but he has been so deep and into the music that he isn't even able to hear her anymore.

my gods I love the use of symbolism in this score, this animatic. Hades and Persephone both think they're doing something right but they're on separate pages, it's like they speak in different languages (Persephone=nature while Hades=industry) Orpheus's song is a recreation of their love song so he catches on, he starts on it in Chant II but gets held up when the gods start bickering again. our boi is in the zone and this is such a beautiful picture of what being in the creative zone looks like asgkkfcisr (almost imagined him with a pen and notebook writing down lyrics as they came to him in Chant II :D) thank you for reminding me why I love this musical

I love many things in this, but the direction really takes the cake. Like, I honestly believe this could be a great basis for an actual fully animated adaptation of Hadestown.

Great animatic! I love the rythm and how you change seemlessly between the two scenes. However, although I love your designs for the characters, all their faces look very similar. Hermes especially, I think doesn't fit his voice, and is too similar to Orpheus'. That Hades animation at the end though, gave me chills. Keep it up! 👍

I like how the rift between Hades and Persephone stem from the both of them and is not a particular fault of only one. Hades, insecure about the surface and Persephone leaving him, creates a suffocating gilded cage, annoying the wild spirit Persephone. Persephone, annoyed at Hades, tries even harder to escape and turns to alcohol, doing nothing to dissuade his insecurities about her leaving, amplifying the insecure Hades. This incentivizes Hades to develop more of Hadestown, trying to persuade Persephone to stay. This angers Persephone more, strengthening her resolve to be free of Hades' "embrace". It's a cycle that only ended when Orpheus' song reminded them of their love. I love it!
