Chanukah is a bit of an exception in the Jewish calendar. It is the only holiday that does not appear anywhere in the bible, and it is the longest of all Jewish holidays -- eight full days.

It does appear in the Bible (In the New Testament as matter of fact). And it was celebrated by Jesus. In the book of John 10:22 It is mentioned as the feast of the dedication. It was during winter in Jerusalem. This feast was celebrated to commemorate the dedication of the temple of G-d after the Maccabean revolt.
