The verses are taken from a poem written by a literate soldier named Angelbert, to conmemorate the Battle of Fontenoy (841 AD) As said battle took place between brothers, it might be an intentional echo to the wars of Primarch against Primarch.

It actually has a "direct descended" correpondent which more accurately translates. Day of Wrath is a more biblical type of translation because everyone even modern school graduates in the west will know what "wrath" means. This is especially true since there is a latin chant performed by a bunch of monks which is famous, called Dies Irae, and translated Day of Wrath (somewhat wrongly since there is a more accurate word which is actually pretty much rooted in the latin.) *Is it just me or do chanting monks always sound so demonic that its become a stereotype for evil about to happen when the baritone monks get to humming?* Anyways, check out the descendants... Dies = Day Irae = Ire Day of Ire = Day of directed anger/rage. (Wrath is okay too, but the word itself is rooted elsewhere so not as cool as having the children of the latin strut center stage, eh?) (Ire being a synonym for anger, rage or wrath, eg: "He felt his ire rising.") Not to be confused with Eyre (Ireland). Though I'm sure the people of Eyre demonstrated their ire when the I-R-eigh was born... oooh, *rimshot.*

Fantastic spot. Columba Hiensis is the name of an Irish saint ('-ensis' suffix refers to someone being from somewhere, e.g. Guilelmus Malmesburiensis, William of Malmesbury. In this case, Hy = Iona, an island with British Christian traditions). The wiki page is about St Columba, and the hymn you've found is a Dies Irae attributed to him! You've made my point much better than I did.
