It was! We had a little escape from reality and had some stuff downloaded on the laptops to watch, ate Sushi that we've bought from the supermarket earlier that day. And then had an early night as per usual haha! Nothing wild!

I live halfway between that beach and Cagliari, if you ever come back I'll be happy to print anything for you :D, oh and there'll be a hot shower and a bottle of wine in it for you. BTW, look out for English language schools wherever you go. I'm sure they'll be happy to print things and help you out with any little problems.

Hari OM Crikey, that took me back to last century - or post 9/11 when all cross-border stuff was triple checked! In fact, even cross-state. Going from NSW to QLD it is still necessary to go through security. And even in this hi-tec age, I would still always have paper back ups for tickets etc. You never know when the cyber will attack!!! It did feel a bit old school (and backwards!). I would understand if they then did a thorough search of the van but they didn't so it wasn't particularly good security. I wonder if it's more just for show. And just because that's the way it's always been done? Why change it! haha. Sorry i haven't replied to your 2nd email - it's on my to-do list! xxx

I'm genuinely confused why you had to go through a security check of your bag and self but then are allowed back into the van where you could be hiding anything (unless they thoroughly searched your vehicle?) Very bizzare. I bet it was BECAUSE you didn't give them the printed ticket! They flagged you as suspicious lol.

We were super confused too! But apparently it's normal at Italian ports! No idea why because like you say, they didn't do a thorough check of the van - literally just opened the back doors and closed them again - so what difference does it make if I'm sat in the passenger seat. PROBABLY because of the paper ticket thing, you're right. We stood out like a sore thumb! haha
