Dont try to slowball annexing your subjects, take away military exemptions and use the doctrine as much as possible, this way they will try to fight back so you can annex multiple at once. Try getting public health as that helps with SoL, not like the industrialists can do much in this patch. Try to keep as high relations with as many majors and supers as possible, I managed to get france, brazil, spain, russia, china and almost egypt to support my independence! the +0.5 liberty desire is very good as having 6 countries supporting you fully negates the company -0.20, research boost -0.5 and military exemption -0.5, and if you are lucky enough you can also get the ottomans, the austrians, the japanese and the americans + other majors to support you very easily. Set an interest in north germany and rival all of the german minors, its a LOT of diplomacy to use on improving relations you simply cant refuse. also the navy. build up a navy for more interests. The Bhadraloks will be your best friend if you get a sovereignist leader for them. Gets multiculturalism for the higher acceptance for that ever so slight One cheese I found you can do is support independence of a random minor country in the british sphere and wait for them to sue for independence, if you get your liberty desire high enough and when the diplomatic play happens, ask for every single territory (ESPECIALLY kenya and bankroll) from the english you possibly can. This wont flip you to the other side because its an independence war and you can just white peace the british with a military boost from france or something. The BEST thing that can happen to you is a british civil war, the british are usually very confident in their fighting chance as they got you on their side, but you can just, not help. The civil war country starts with 50 liberty desire for all subjects and is usually very near bankruptcy. This is your opportunity to sue for an independence with the globe supporting you. Oh and also nationalization. thats important. You can simply not do the independence and just only the nationalization to cripple the british influence if you dont have pannationalism unlocked to become india yet. After you become india, go for wealth voting to give the industrialists a lot of power. Unshockingly, you will have an insane amount of unemployed people so getting Laissez Faire (which the industrialists now love because they got new ideologies) for the huge indian investment pool to take over production as they are more efficient with dividends which simply loops back into construction.

The way to play India is to max construction than use debt repayments to quickly industrialize while paying nothing to Britain all you need is a some throughput
