Kass is also a professor at my alma mater and she is always happy to talk with students about her work and about survivor. Have heard really nice things about her from students (and people seem to like her classes!) but she is just as no nonsense and strong-willed in person as she is on the show.

I think looking at Kass’s game she kind of reminds me a lot of Russell Hantz in Samoa where she overall played a great strategic game and made the necessary moves to advance herself further in the game and she is a large part as to why Cagayan is the amazing season as it is. However much like Russell her social game is terrible and even if she laid out her game she wasn’t going to get any votes from the jury no matter who she was sitting at the end with.

​@@tmm4195 I don't remember which interview it was, but when talking about a possible woo v kass finale... Spencer, Jefra, and LJ would vote for her (she still loses). I think they just changed their mind during the reunion since they're able to watch everything and also see the audience reactions. But yeah, Woo would've won but it would be a split jury or even a toss up knowing Woo's weak FTC performance.

What are your thoughts on the theory that Kass started playing for second at merge? She made some really bad moves and became really confrontational once merge hit, and it seems like she just wanted to be the perfect goat and get 2nd/3rd (who still get a good chunk of prize money). All of this makes the way she went out really ironic and recontextualizes Spencer’s line: “Kass, zero chance to win the game.” All just a theory but I kinda buy into it.

I think she played a potentially winnable Russel Hantz game. Yes the jury hated her, but if she's sitting next to Woo or Trish at final 2 I do see a genuine path for her to explain herself and apologize where she needs to. Drop the whole chaos kass thing, talk about working in a male dominated field that requires this sort of behavior sometimes, and apologize to Morgan and Sarah and maybe, just maybe she could take a one vote win over Woo/Trish. She definitely had more humanity and public speaking abilities than Russel by more than enough to talk her way into a competitive loss at least

@dttodorov I just still think she has an angle against really anyone but Tony. She burnt the jury but she wasn't really super mean or nasty to most of them, Really just Tony and Trish. I'm not denying it would take a hell of a final tribal, but against Woo specifically I think she could absolutely just drop the act, be a human and win a close vote. Just cause she's a tough crazy mom doesn't mean she's as cruel and vile as Russel was. She probably needed to start chilling out around the final 6 to have a real shot, because her blow up with Trish definitely tanked her winning chances, but Woo was such a nothing finalist admittedly. I loved him when I first watched the season but he just didn't play a game that ever wins survivor unless he sits next to Trish or a Kass that acts like Twyla, which also could've happened. I don't think we can say anyone would or wouldn't have won unless they sit at final tribal and win or lose. I'm just saying I see a potential path if I'm on her jury and she does make it to final 2.

@@markjackson6431Nobody on that season liked Kass at all. At the reunion when asked if it was a woo kass finale how would the hypothetical jury vote, they all said they would have voted for woo. If you don't believe me watch the ponderosa video of kass arriving, nobody talks to her and it's very awkward. Hell nobody even sat with her on the plane ride home as majority of the cast hated her. Kass had no shot at winning at this point woo would've taken it.

@@Nohea66 using the reunion poll is actually pointless. it’s been months after the season ended. they have time to reflect. they get to see how the public reacts to said players which influences their “decision”. the Samoa jury may have said that Russell wins in a final 3 of Jaison and Shambo yet if it happened when it happened, Jaison wins. the South Pacific jury said at the reunion if Coach went to the end with Rick and Albert, he would win. however, Coach literally said interviews after that reunion that Cowboy (Rick) would win in that scenario.
