I have basically a full set army of CK and I love the lore that i made where they're basically pirates who have to pillage to maintain their knights since their forgeworld got destroyed.

I think Blood shield is a solid choice Karnivore with the Helm of Dogs, so easy to get favoured to use it twice on a fast model that can benefit from obscuring terrain, and the extra attack makes sure that. Note in Vortex of Terrors though, it's not -1 hit, it's -1 from WS and BS, so will stack with hit modifiers.

In the Herpetrax list the warlord being a wardog was to make it a character so it could do psychic actions for psychic interrogation or ritual secondaries. It was the most CP efficient way to do it since it didn't actually get a warlord trait or relic. Sadly this list is pretty badly hurt by Votann and the new Guard Codex. Those games aren't entirely unwinnable, but its really hard. In the tournament the game against 2 full payload Manticores was already difficult and that was before the new codex.

Having been raised by parents whose idea of "quality time with the family" consisted of us being forced to watch Hee Haw with them every Sunday, the Doom-Despair-Darkness thing will always be "Gloom, Despair and Agony" for me. I'm not sure cypher can be taken legally in the second list. I can't remember why off the top of my head and can't chekc just yet but I don't think he can be slot less with abbadon?

I have 1 Chaos Knight Desecrator and that's it. I just like taking him with my Chaos Marines whenever I play a game of 2,500pts or more, he allows my Land Raider to run around borderline unmolested. But what are the restrictions with doing this? Can my army still be battle forged if I take him? From what I understand if I take a super heavy auxiliary detachment then the Knight has to be a dreadblade.

I’ve been collecting the chaos knights and use them as auxiliary more than anything. But I do plan make a list of death guard use a close combat tyrant slap a warp Born stalker on it and then grab a camera

Honestly they are a rather good group for painting as you don’t need to be as precise due to the size of the canvas, yet aren’t so big like titans to where you need to make everything absolutely perfect

Spray metallic, nuln oil, dry brush a light silver. Shoulder pads spray a different colour. Highlight edges. Simple scheme but effective.

@@beanspud88 Thing is I really dislike spray primer or any spray paint as I don't have the space for it. I find using a paint brush and air brush paint works great for me, especially getting into those hard to reach areas of the model

They're not as easy as the big round imperial knights, but the bigness is still very helpful. The only scary things are the spikes and the vultures, but most armies have at least one random small thing to paint.

I hate play versus them. There is lot of CK players that have poor rules knowledge with them and cant tell exactly what is happening. The dread test is very stressful, and poorly described. Roll high, to get bad things from dreadtest. The failed test means the ability successful cast... It is mad. Halve the charge is very devastating. -1 hit, -1 wound and obsec ability on big knights hated too.

This should be it’s own game. It’s bullshit when you’re entire army is T7/8. Fuck knights. it pretty much forces you to bring an army loaded with anti tank weapons. An all comers list always has issues with knight spam.

Even the big Knights are still just 3+/5++ with no damage or AP reduction, they're ridiculously vulnerable to anything that's efficient on basic Marines.

They also have very few models on the board, so they are normally not hard to play around. Plus, they bleed secondaries. Killing 1-2 per round is pretty easy for most armies, and, while they have obsec, they don't really have model count, so they can be contested on most objectives easily as well.
