The Ptolemy event adds another twist to Chaos, seemingly suggesting that Typhon and Chaos have some sort of less than friendly relationship. Typhon is disgusted that the Chaos Tide is named as such, which is odd if he is supposedly created to hate on the Olympian Machine Gods specifically. Typhon is described as the phenomenon that judges Gods (not just the 12 Machine Gods) and the mechanism that tempts others to sin. The fact that Typhon existed before the Machine Gods even reached Earth (and the entire reason the Titanomachy happened) suggests that Typhon is older than is suggested. Chaos and Typhon might have been enemies, and if Typhon is the cause of sin, he might have been the reason why Chaos' universe was dead in the first place

@capetel368 that "mechanism that tempts others to sin" is something original to Fate, so it's likely that Typhon is much more than Gaia throwing a fit. Typhon's description of being the Judge of Gods and cause of Sin is actually very close to the role of Old Testament Satan.

@@domovoi7216 I was referring to typhon being the cause of their universes destruction. And typhon being equal to chaos is stupid. He may tempt the gods, but chaos is far beyond that.

@capetel368 I don't necessarily mean Typhon is equal to Chaos, more like a big thorn in its side. It kind of depends on how crazy you want to go with Typhon's mythology. Plutarch describes him as the Root of all evil, while Helena Blavatsky, Eliphas Levi and Aleister Crowley state that he is the same as Satan. We also have no real metric on Typhon's power since the version we fought is a servant version (ephemeros) of an already immensely weakened version of Typhon. Even basically drained of nearly all power, it still took Zeus all of his strength and several fights to seal Typhon away, not even kill him. The Machine Gods decided to flee rather than fight because they knew they couldn't win. Even Sefar didn't get that honor. On top of that, Typhon apparently swiped Keraunos and Harpe while being essentially drained of all power. Is he as strong as Chaos? No. I would say he rests around the level of Sefar if not a little higher since Sefar was so strong because of her defense against concepts.

Reminds me of that quote from Star Trek - which, to paraphrase - Chaos is as far above us as we are above the amoeba. I suppose that's largely to our benefit, as I can't see an amoeba earning the wrath of any given human... though that won't stop us from killing it incidentally. Chaos is probably the most Lovecraftian thing in Fate, even acknowledging Foreigners are a thing.

Something to note about chaos, all of its attacks where merely point defense. Not once did it attack us with the intent to destroy, but instead to just get us to go away. Cant imagine what an actual attack from such a thing would be like.

Chaos is honestly the only thing in the Nasuverse that might be as terrifying as ORT and the other Types. Even Sefar isn't that scary.

to be fair though, Sefar was essentially just the bomb that gets dropped in to wreck a civilization and it still took Zeus pulling a Full Greek Pantheon Megazord Mode to win, i don't think we know the full capabilities of the actual "Bomber" that dropped her.
