God the battle with Ulkair was such a pain..... Takes forever to bloody die and all that fear of him killing your brothers and having to retry the whole mission. Still wish I'd thought of using those drop pods; woulda certainly made the battle less tedious! Wouldn't call him hard to beat but jeez his stayin' power....

+Nika Bakuradze I agree. Next to Ulkair Kyras was pretty easy despite potentially being the greatest threat the Blood Ravens ever faced as their very existence was at stake.. In fact you couldn't really lose against Kyras as you could easily replace whatever he destroyed.:)

Agreed. CR Ulkair really has that ancient forbidden demonic entity vibe dripping all over him. I sometimes kind of wished that Chaos Rising is longer when it comes to missions, giving this finale a more satisfying kick over all. Such is the ways of Nurgle. Affable and jolly but incredibly sinister and still unmistakably evil.

Ulkair is pretty easy on corrupt, just have the damage reflecting armor, and activate Tarkus' Tactical Advance and he kills himself.

I did. Brought Thule along, even managed to deal the killing blow against Eliphas with him, and still got no extra dialogue. So I ask: what do they say to each other? Or is it not highlighted, just some background speech, with no subtitles and character speech icons, so I just missed it in the chaos of battle?

Well, its not bad fluff. New explosive shells cant be maked, but there is limited supply of them (well obviously not that limited :) ). So only Space marines are allowed to use them.

I honestly had to play this three times because I couldn't figure out where the fuck to go and all my allies got wasted going back and forth. It's fucking stupid that enemies continue to respawn even if you destroy the bases. Kinda poor level design and a real drag to an otherwise great expansion

+BountyFlamor Thats very true people join Nurgle for reasons like that. I guess he said that because of Eliphias death not going towards releasing him unlike anyone else that was killed during this fight since Eliphias is pretty much revived shortly after. Thats probably what he meant by an offence to Nurgle and that's further complicated by Eliphias soul belonging to Abaddon.. As you know he was depending on sacrifices to be freed. I know it's not directly stated but I assume the deaths of the chaos marines count as well much like the Daemon on Tartarus who took sacrifices from loyalist and traitor alike :)

Nurgle is the chaos God of Death and Decay, he is also the God of Rebirth. After all, decay is simply one part of the cycle of life, without which no new life could grow. Nurgle doesn’t care if people want a longer life after all in the end we will all face the same end. Death. But Eliphas despite knowing this refused to accept death and bye doing that he offended Nurgle.

Yeah. That's what the devotee wants, but obviously not what Nurgle has in store for them. If they actually achieve immortality, Nurgle will be very displeased.

BountyFlamor I think that while nurgle and his daemons puts on a public face that they care about their human enemies and followers and love them, in private they hate them and don’t care about them. Because, ulkair’s dialog is really hostile, he calls Eliphas a disappointment, calls the blood ravens pathetic, outright states he hates them, publicly threatens them and the people of the subsector (and I understand that while nurgle has death and rot as his calling card and views his version of undead as rebirth and has a cycle of life and death- there is a difference between death and threatening people) and he has a general condescending attitude towards humanity as a whole- little humans indeed.

I think Ulkar is an exception among his kind. He was trapped on the planet so long that his personality twisted and warped and now he hates all life and would rather simply kill everything than go for the normal rebirth cycle. He’ll probably be like tell his is truly forced back into the depths of Warp and Nurgle can press his restart button so to speak

Mostly, because Chaos is not one "friendly" force. Chaos forces try to kill each other and hate each other as much as possible. Only in special cases, such as when Abbadon begins a Black Crusade will different forces of chaos join forces. The entire squad hated more Eliphas than the Blood Ravens, that's pretty much estabilished.
