What's rather irksome about Chaos is that apparently as soon as a modern chapter so much as turns renegade, -All the Whirlwinds fall apart as do the Stalkers and Hunters -The Techmarines and Apothecaries go missing -The sidecars vanish off attack bikes -The land speeders crash -Stormtalons, Stormravens, and so on all break down -The assault cannons jam and the chapter armoury turns out to have been full of autocannons and chaincannons all along -The land raider variants all turn into bare bones lascannon patterns -The storm bolters turn into two bolters glued together -Every Razorback turret falls off -The Scouts all vanish too -The Dreadnoughts all go crazy -All the hunter-killer missiles turn into havoc launchers It's very strange.

It seems descended from 2nd ed where assault cannons would jam up within a single battle, techmarines and apothecaries didn’t care for their battlefield role, preferring to fight as normal chaos marines. I think it kinda fits the insurgency theme (even if it doesn’t really make sense) that chaos are limited to the toyota hilux of tech options.

Didnt they explain it as saying those things require too much maintenance and therefore are not worth the hassle?

@@SnakeWorksStudio In some cases, maybe, but Chaos also have plenty of other maintenance intensive machines in service, and some of them aren't that complicated.
