Hi Simeon; Thank you for taking the time to upload the tutorial.I am new to Vantage but using Vray and Max for many years.I noticed that the background trees are washed out and that the plate is visible in reflections ( white line ghosting). Have you figured out how to make the background trees etc visible; and make sure that you cannot see the map plate in reflections?

Hi, Vantage is the better than all RT softwares , but it need some abilities to be the best, here is some suggestions: -Add motion objects in Cosmos such as : fountains, walking ppl,.....etc. -Decrease the flickering of IES spots specially in indoor scenes, the flickering remains even i made the samples 1000. -Lighting objects and Vray light map GI affection. Note: concentrate on Live link, and direct render feature, these are the key different than other softwares, if i will export a file to Vantage with Vrayscene file so other softwares will give my much better options, i use Live link most of time, so please concentrate on those 2 features"not exporting the scene to Vrscene option"

@@simeonbalabanov how do you control the value of denoiser inside vantage. when i turn on denoiser the scene becomes blurry. especially the vegetation.

Partial support for V-Ray Edges texture - rounded corners are not implemented. Do you know when rounded corners will work? This is one of the things I use a lot and would be great to have it in Vantage. Thanks

Vivement la prochaine version! car je suis sur que ce logiciel est l'avenir de VRay sur le schéma du RT...il faut absolument que Chaos rattrape la concurrence d'Epic sur ce secteur. Et pourquoi pas l'intégrer de base dans VRay car il y a pas ou trop peu de communication sur Vantage ( deja, il nous faut plus de tuto merci )...bon courage au équipe

what are those other realtime solutions that support such features you are talking about?

@@guimcast1 Unreal Engine, D5 Render, Lumion, etc. Albeit some of those are faked. The big use case for Vantage IMO is for animation. Particularly of scenes built for still rendering inside of Vray. So I build scenes in Vray using Phoenix for fire and water. But if I want to move those scenes over to vantage for animation, then have no way to depict fire and water, other than maybe an IFL. But without a better volume shader, the IFL option for fire is really bad, especially if it needs to be transparent. I am aware that Vantage is limited in all the ways that Vray GPU is. BUT, with the addition of things like the new Cloud system making it's way to Vantage, I'm hopeful this may open up other possibilities. All in all I think a lot could be achieved with just decent volume shader. Fstorm for example, has similar limitations in that it doesn't support Phoenix shaders, but does support Phoenix mesh, as well as IFL. The volume options in the Fstorm shader really helps to add realism when applied to an IFL or phoenix animated mesh.

Hi craftspirit! Displacement is still something Vantage does not support. We will be adding it in the upcoming updates. Could you share what do you usually use displacement for - e.g. bricks, cobblestone, etc. ?

For any kind of issues, please send examples and screenshots that demonstrate the problem on our forums here: forums.chaos.com/forum/chaos-vantage/chaos-vantage-issues Flickering might come from different aspects, but in most of the cases more rendering samples will improve it. Again, if you share examples it will be much easier to assist you.

Hi dear thank you for this tutorial. It was good to watch and to get some tricks. Jets jump my topic ; I have an TV on my scene and I want to turn it on with some video when camera moving. . I add video file, it's working on my max scene, the problem is it is not working vantage. When I delinked together I can see but it's make my laptop an tortois :) and the quality of animations not clear. How you can help me about this topic? eagerly awaiting your feedback because I'm stuck in the project. 🤯

Hi and apologies for the delay. Whenever you need assistance, please use the forums since we monitor them daily: forums.chaos.com/forum/chaos-vantage/chaos-vantage-issues Video files like mp4, avi, mov, etc. are not directly supported in Vantage. You'll need to convert the video to an image sequence (PNGs, or JPGs) to use as animated texture for the TV.

Hello, unfortunately, GTX graphic cards do not support DXR, so Vantage does not run on those. You will need a GPU that supports DXR, such as the ones from the RTX line.

Sorry but for now, this Vantage "thing" is garbage, only good enough for preview quality. - But there might be potential for the future. Not a gamechanger for anything yet.
