Your theory is very sound, I concur. If exhaust is getting inside the water passages via a bad head gasket or cracked head, it would pressurize the system n find the weakest link, gaskets to blow out thru.

Compression from the cylinders pushed into the cooling system. Pull the plugs and spin it over to make sure you don't hydrolock the engine. Good call to protect the engine.

Understood on the imbalance of the fan blades but I’d still check for combustion gases in the coolant, to much $$$ for one of them there race motors.cheap insurance.

Back in the 90's, I had a RX-7 blow a O-ring and it pressurized my coolant system and blew the top radiator tank off the flow tubes while I was going down interstate 40

i remember when pevely was all under water ..i'm glad to see it has came back better than it was before...keep at it and eventually you will get a good run up there in pevely..like the old sayin goes , if it ain't one thing , it's another..that's what i used to live by when i was dirt trackin up there towards jeff city ..i was always havin issues but i battled through and put on a show for the crowd

I’m so done with trick fans. 20 years ago they didn’t have trick fan blades. All was good. Nothing against jones or gorsuch. Just too many fan blades breaking. A $50 speedway fan still does the trick at our house.
