FYI, you can expand the size of the garden home plots. It makes them produce way more food than they need, to the point that each huge garden totally supports a non-garden home with plenty left to sell to the granaries. I'm constantly selling stuff grown in the gardens. Plus, it makes the garden home owner rich, which means you can wealth tax the heck out of them. lol
