There's a typo in the title. This is Chapel Road, not Chapel Lane (which is a real crossing in Parbold, and is a "phone to open gates yourself" crossing) Nice to see those 50-car trains again! The alarms here sound neat!

Yep that's one reason! 😊 The train could also be stopped so the driver can pick up a radio from the Dock control people.

Yes you can hear the horn at 4:58 before the train goes over Canute road 😊
