Absolutely one of the best VH covers I've ever seen - I'm amazed at how closely you nailed that tone. It's such a unique and cool sound. Awesome tone! Sounds much better than the ML-1 Bea to me, this has way more mids and punch, whereas ML-1 Bea has more of a percussive, focused tone with more detail. This sounds way more EVH to me! Good job!

EVH's original tone uses the Eventide micropitch effect that's in their harmonizer rack units. It ends up sounding kind of like a chorus but without the swirling/modulating part. The Axe-FX can do it easily - you split the signal chain and pitch one side up a small amount and the other side down by the same amount. Eddie used this on all the Hagar-era stuff with varying degrees of the effect.

Great playing. Love your tone. I assume you are running the Axe II directly into your DAW. I am interested in getting the Axe but I am not certain if you can obtain the same tones when plugged into a 4X12 cab. I am also considering the David Bray 4550. Give it a listen. The amp totally nails the early VH stuff. Let me know your thoughts. Just very confused on which to purchase.
