Chapman Stick Refresh - Define

I bought a polycarbonate 10 string Chapman stick. I think the folks in Belgium, restrung it with guitar strings before sending it over the pond. I have it at my Luthier's right now to have correct strings fitted and to generally set it up. What rules of thumb can I pass on to him for the setup? He is very experienced as a Luthier; however, this is the first stick he's encountered.
