Don't know if anyone will read this as the video is quite old but I tried optimizing this build by adding bees to the mix for the automatic bonemeal effect as they pollenize crops. 1) add flowers around the build (I put grass blocks on top of the fence) and add any flowers of your choice. 2) To prevent the bees from escaping: encase the build with any building block you want (I mostly used glass and a wooden frame so it somewhat looks like a greenhouse). Remember to leave one gap for your door. 4) Add beehives on the central platform (I went for the corners, with one extra block under them) 3) my issue is that the bees would sometimes go INSIDE the central part (watermelon/pumpkin area) and PUSH out the minecart hoppers. After some annoyed experimentation, I figured out a solution: block out the receiver villagers (the trapped ones) with two blocks next to their heads so the bees don't go in that way. Then, add WATER on the block their body is located (not their feet, one block higher at the same level as the minecart). This will prevent the bees from wanting to explore the inside of the farm and will keep the minecarts in their place I didn't do the exact maths, but the efficiency of the farm can only be increased since you now randomly get pollenization from bees flying around

Still a very relevant design. I enjoyed it so much that I built and entire home base around this design. I ended up shifting the crops to use a 23x31 block design so all four crops were more centered and shared one villager trader between two fields. this allowed for the berries and melons to use a single set of mine cart rails to collect everything across the middle. the bees didnt have a problem with the traders because they were far enough away to not interact. Im sure at some point ill find a moved mine cart but this worked out so well when I stacked it on top of my trade hall and storage cave. thank you so much for this great design. definitely subbed and following for more great stuff.

Chappy, you’ve broken my brain a little. Never would have thought to fire the seeds back up to the farmer. I’ve never had a problem with your tutorials before. You’re a great teacher and MC innovator, thanks!
@chrismckay38683 жыл бұрын
You can simplify it a bit and have the wheat done like the original 4 by making the plain villager into a farmer and locking it. Farmers will throw farmers wheat but not seeds. That way you don't need the sorter or item elevator. The beetroot also seemed to go faster with the farmer throwing to a farmer... granted my design has one reciever to two farms and the wheat and beet use the same reciever :)

i have made a lot of crop farms but I have had unexpected difficulties with villagers that didn't want to change profession. I had to make a lot of attempts "to force" villagers change their profession. Edit: the trick was: time and distance between villagers. Somehow the villagers interacted with each other that denied to change their profession into farmer. Once I "locked" villager into sufficient distance from each ones the villager changed profession after while.

Nah, you really need the wheat farmer to purge his inventory regularly or else it will fill up with wheat seeds and break him. The other crops don't have the same issue because it's one item. i.e. plant potato, harvest potato. The seeds always get janky.

In the two corners that aren't squared with the overall design ..can easily place a sugar cane and bamboo auto farm to square it off, if you really want to get creative with the hoppers, add in your various meat and egg farms, .. and in the center place an iron farm on top... then you get to sit around scratching your head for a few days trying to work out a massive storage and sorting device.

Nice farm build! In my opinion, minecarts are noisy, so I simply used mud blocks above the hoppers. Hoppers are able to pick up items through mud blocks. No hopper minecarts needed! I'll say using mud is quite an improvement over hopper minecarts.

Made this exactly and found that when collecting wheat seeds, the wheat farmers jump on the trap doors (used 2 stacked as you did) and trample the other nearby crops. Only means slightly less efficiency but perhaps an issue to investigate a solution.
@alexburbank37253 жыл бұрын
Since you have built it has this farm been very effective?
@scottrichards38323 жыл бұрын
@@alexburbank3725 Melons take up most of the production followed by carrots. Wheat is very limited coming out of it. I installed an on / off switch for sending items to my main storage area and had to build a smaller sorting area just for the farm with overflow items being destroyed otherwise it backs up quickly from melons. If you are using this for trading it is not such an issue but for food and potion ingredients it is very overkill.

Hi. I constructed your crop farm design in the MC Bedrock 1.19 for a few days. Unfortunately it didn't work 100% for the Bedrock version. The hoppers under the crop farms didn't pick up anything if placed under the dirt blocks. Only hopper carts can pick them up. As for the pumpkin and watermelon farm, the mechanism seems not work, maybe something I might missed. So I stopped getting anything work and moved to something different actually work for me. I felt frustrated over hours of construction and resources I wasted on the design may be not work on Bedrock version. My suggestion: Please specify which version in the title you used on. Please pause up to 15 seconds on each step so we can explain each step closely to understand better.
