I see where Felix is coming from on this one. The last partner I had who wanted to call me boyfriend and herself 'my girlfriend' was older than me at 32 and emotionally stunted and desperate for any affection and wishing for a high school/college romance that never happened for her. A 70 year old saying it about the woman they are dating comes off as especially creepy. Say the woman im dating, or my partner, love, paramore, old lady, etc. as long as you aren't infantilizing the person you're fucking. Unless you're Bill Clinton then it makes sense to use the term girlfriend.
