About On Cinema:
On Cinema is Adult Swim's finest authority on film, comparable to the great French film magazines in both content and depth. Host Tim Heidecker (of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) and recurring guest Gregg Turkington illuminate which of the latest films are must-see's, which are unofficial sequels to unrelated films, and which aren't worth your time on a scale of one-to-five bags of popcorn. The coveted five bags of popcorn might not be given out easily, but that's kind of the point. See every episode of this enriching talk show now at AdultSwim.com.

Tim, I've come up with title ideas for the next few sequels. Tell that hack Turkington he could learn a thing or two from my writing skills. Decker III: Deck the Halls (on a trip to Los Angeles to visit his dying father figure, Decker finds himself stuck in a Super 8 Motel with a gang of terrorists trying to hold all the motel customers hostage - now, it's another case of Decker being "in the wrong place at the right time," as he uses his smarts to outwit the terrorists and his sinewy muscles to battle them to the death. IT ALSO HAS ABSOLUTELY NO SIMILARITIES WITH DIE HARD DESPITE WHAT YOU MAY HAVE HEARD) Decker IV: Operation Cancun - enough said Decker V: Episode IV - The Death of Agent Kington - in which we finally kill off the Jar-Jar Binks of the otherwise-beloved "Decker" franchise once and for all Decker V: Episode V - Decker Park - President Davidson opens a national theme park in honor of Jack Decker...but all hell breaks loose and visitors must "hit the deck" when cryogenically-engineered mini-Deckers escape from their cages and Jack Decker himself must begrudgingly save the day *once again* (he never even WANTED them to open that damned theme park! but now he's just about the only man who can help them, god damn it)

Really excited about the new season of Decker, but a little worried about Tim allowing Gregg to write for the show. It is of course understandable with Tim's new duties as father to little Tom Cruise Heidecker, but I just hope the quality of the show doesn't suffer as a result.
@wheelmanstan
@wheelmanstan 10 жыл бұрын
I don't think Tim would allow Gregg to take part in the writing if he didn't have absolute confidence in his abilities. Tim is essentially taking Gregg under his wing and really giving him the opportunity of a lifetime. Gregg could screw this up and ruin both of their careers single-handedly, but with a talent like Tim looking over his shoulder, that's an impossibility. It's definitely going to be a 5 bags of popcorn and 10 bags of soda type of film. And I'd maybe even throw in a set of beats by dre headphones for the kiddos.
@jfox971

@wheelmanstan
@wheelmanstan 10 жыл бұрын
J Fox It could easily make it to Bond status but Jack Reacher status would be quite an achievement. I mean if Tim were writing, directing, producing, and starring in every role then I could see it reaching Jack Reacher status, but with Tim having to carry a deadweight like Gregg's Kington character, it's going to be tough.

Joe just gets better and better. He fits in seamlessly. Gregg was pretty good in this episode but that cannot be said without acknowledging Joe's presence and the reality that Gregg must feel more pressure when he has to try and out charm and out wit Joe Estevez. Keep Joe around and expect Gregg to bring more energy on set. I didn't like Gregg relating "Chappie" and "Alien" bc it is way off base. Deck- I mean Tim seemed to notice. Tim's face @5:58 was my favorite. So, Tim doled out 15 bags of soda to SBMH or did he take back the initial 10 and then gave back 5? If he did give it the 15, I believe that's an official all time high for bags of soda given by Tim.

What a great episode for Timheads, Estevezheads, Greggheads, and OnCinemaheads. I'll give this episode 5 bags of popcorn, but no sodas because (SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!) there was no "Hey guys!" from Gregg. Even as a Timhead, an episode just doesn't feel right without a "Hey guys!" from the master codebreaker/number one movie buff. That being said, I'll give this episode 6 bags of popcorns and 1 bag of soda, and maybe a small keychain map of Hawaii that you can attach to a backpack or suitcase or something.

It never dawned on me Chappie was a much darker take of Alien. Gregg really knows his films.

Gotta hand it to Joe for his integrity. With his insane acting and improv skills he could easily have convinced everyone he HAD seen the movies being reviewed but decides instead to use his powers for good, not evil. Five bags of popcorn.

I feel like Joe’s question about Tim’s true identity at 4am is pretty insightful and I was interested to hear it is Tim. I wouldn’t have been able to guess that either because, as Joe says, Decker really is kind of an extension of Tim.
