Ref your comments about people who can no longer do what you do, I'm one of them. I used to cycle to the lakes (push bike) in my youth and climb those beautiful fells. I now suffer from multiple sclerosis and struggle to walk. One extreme to another. It puts a smile on my face but also makes me sad to see what my head still wants to do but my body no longer can do. It's my fix watching these videos, keep them coming.

That's what makes these videos invaluable. Although I am physically still fit, I don't live near to scenery like this, so for me, I also very much get my fix of visiting the fells and mountains from watching these wonderful videos.

Brilliant work BC. The Lake District was the crucible of my enlightenment as a fourteen year-old boy on a school geography field trip in 1967. A life changing experience. The Lakes are more crowded now, but, as you prove, the essence of the area is unchanged. The Lake District is a timeless, light-soaked mystical and sublime arena. It is an absolute joy to start the working week with Glenn and his KZbin productions. Why would anyone not wish to say hello to this lovely soft spoken gentleman? Surely they will come to regret the day, after our Glenn has become a world famous vlogger reaching millions of viewers, climbing every mountain, doing the splits on every hillside, bimbling back down to the 'vannnnn' on every lane ...when he has gone on to win Strictly Come Dancing? I can see it now, the invention of a new dance move called the F'in-Stop, Glenn with his dance partner clinging as a rucksack, does a sudden complete halt at an imaginary fat man gate...perhaps with Finn performing zoomies around the Blackpool dance floor, why yes, then they would regret not having taken the opportunity to smile back and say hello...gently informing him he has lettuce in his teeth 😁😁 And I will be able to say I knew him way back then...when he and I both had matching Next dining chairs in the Stirling red check fabric option....sorry Glenn, I will try harder not to be so nosey next time. Excellent work, as always ;0))

Thought you might be out and about on Saturday, we only get a handful of days like that - I was walking near Eskdale, absolutely gorgeous! Days like that nourish your soul and sustain you in the bleak days ahead - it's rained every day since. I remember walking that path after a overnight camp at Sprinkling Tarn with a scramble up onto Great End and that glorious path back to the Tarn.

I crossed Glaramara from Allen Crags as the back half of my first walk in eight months. It was hot and dry and the morning, going up Grains Ghyll and exploring Esk Hause, was fantastic. But it was too strenuous a first walk back on a hot and airless day and I already had a headache coming on. But I was determined on going back via Glaramara. I have no memories of it at all, because I was bordering on heat stroke, had a sweatshirt tied round my head as a makeshift turban and was taking in nothing whatsoever except the desperate need to keep stumbling on. Now I know what I missed. My heartfelt thanks.

I think in the case of Londoners (I was born and raised there but was always a country girl at heart) they are insular because they value their privacy and space because of the massive amount of people they are pressed into. Having said that a nod and a smile costs nothing and that's to all people, not just Londoners who when exposed to the countryside with all that fresh air and natural exercise they are probably too exhausted to react! When my family visit (I live by the sea) from London, they nod off after tea time and wake up at bed time!. Where I am (Dungeness) you have to add another hour onto any trip out because the locals are so friendly and in some cases they practically kidnap you to get a chat in. I have visited the lakes, and you are right..the most friendly and interesting people to talk to.

I did this walk in 2021 (albeit a different ascent to Glaramara) and most of it was in torrential rain and clag. That said I love Glaramara summit - you're in the middle of the mountains but it's so peaceful. Great to see the route in clear weather and reaffirmed my desire to go back and do it again. Mind completely blown once again . My 82 year old mum is now well and truely hooked . What you were say is spot on for a lot of us. i could spend every day up that way but because of work ,family and occasionally health issues i cant but if i had my way come rain or shine id be there somewhere in the lakes but thanks to you i get my little fix every now and then. and its enough to take the edge off.So thankyou your videos , are absolute works of art in them selves. maybe ill see you up there mate and i still dont know your name lol! Another cracking walk and talk to watch on a Sunday evening 😁. You should have gone into the bar at the Glaramara Hotel. We stayed there a couple of years ago in December and loved it. A good starting point for many walks 😁. As for Scafell Pike - I've never had the urge but I have done Sca Fell a few times from Boot in the Eskdale Valley. Where I might add is a lovely little Pub called the Boot Inn ! Just saying! 😉😁

As a long time viewers of your videos we eagerly await the next episodes of your adventures and this one was a corker. Having completed the Wainwrights it is a joy to relive, through you, the many places we have visited and to discover new routes we can try in the future. Keep them coming please. Regarding your comment around 59:30 about people not returning a hello, post lockdown we have found a distinct change in many peoples social interaction on the fells and in their general behaviour. On a visit to the Lakes earlier this month we too experienced many ignorant walkers who totally blanked us when we offered a hello. These were mostly groups walking two or three wide and sometimes four or five deep who in addition to not responding to a cheery hello were in no way going to move into single file so we could pass, expecting us to step up or down the fell. What took the biscuit was one such group of ten to a dozen people who arrived on the opposite side of a wall stile at the same time as us and made us wait whilst each and everyone of them climbed over - very slowly. They then continued on their way deep in discussions as if we were invisible. They were moaning about the lack of footpath signposts on the fells which had caused them some extra miles - wow!

Great Route, wish we’d gone up that way, better than the soul destroying steep side from seathwaite! We came off seathwaite fell on the side straight down to the path, a bit naughty but cut a couple of miles off and was quite easy.

Thank you so much for sharing yet another wonderful walk! I've been stuck indoors screwing down a squeaking bedroom floor and decorating. I was rather down when I finished at 4pm today. I couldn't help feeling that I had wasted a sunny day here in pretty East Devon by staying indoors (except for a few round-the-block walks with my dog Max)! It being too dark to walk, I made a cuppa, curled up on the sofa with my dog and watched this video. What a treat - the views were stunning and I loved your cheerful chatter - it felt like I was there with you enjoying the great outdoors. You've really lifted my spirits today - ta everso! I've still got a lot of boring decorating to do before I get away for a few days on 24th December (to walk Dartmoor with my dog) so I plan to 'treat' myself at the end of each decorating day with another of your videos! Even though I've probably seen a lot of them before I know they'll keep me going!

As someone who loves the Lakes and is undertaking her own 'Walking the Wainwrights challenge' (albeit in a much more haphazard and less organised way than you!) thank you so much for these videos. Due to living in the Cambridgeshire fens I only make it up a handful of times a year; your videos definitely help to fill the gaps and remind me that my happy place will be waiting for me. Hope to come across you out and about at some point, I would definitely say hello! P.S I absolutely love my Black Crag hoodie and pretty much live in it, reluctantly peeling it off for a wash every now and again 😂

Btw, I think people (including Wainwright) head for the 601 summit because that is what's marked as Seathwaite Fell on the os map. The 632 summit is actually named Great Slack on the map.

A truly wonderful walk, you sure put the milage in. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, probably my favourite to date. I’m new to walking and wild camping these last 2 years and find 50% of people are a joy to meet on the trails, however the other 50% must be the city types you said. It is hard not to take their ignorance personal at times, we just have to enjoy interacting those nice likeminded folks and sod the miserable ones. 😉

Glaramara & Allen Crags were on my 'to-do' list for 2023, up via Rosthwaite Fell and back via Esk Hause, Esk Pike, Ore Gap & Langstrath. Hi. I’ve loved watching this video, I never want them to end. I’ve walked that beautiful path up to Sprinkling Tarn (definitely one of those amazing wow moments…so so beautiful) I came down Grains Gill back to Seathwaite but found it a bit of a slog down. Can’t wait to be back in the Lakes in December for 8 days! Getting some ideas for walks from your channel but won’t be doing anywhere near as many miles. I was lucky enough to be in the North Lakes for that week. OMG Friday and Saturday were special days. I was on Helvellyn on that Saturday- it was special and a fair bit of snow until that midday sun melted the snow. I was up on Esk Pike on Sunday (Remembrance Sunday) from Seathwaite and it lashed down all afternoon. That’s a fair walk in those reduced daylight hours. very slippy out there. Poles saved me a few times. Great watch. I’ll bump into you one day and a.ways have a big smile on my face when I’m out there.

Hello, hi, ciao. Loved catching up with all of these videos, I’m worn out and I’m stuffed on Mars bars… 😅 We had to laugh about your comments re people not saying hello. In our village here in Cornwall if you say hello and get nothing back, we say that the other person is normally a tourist from a big city. As for your reference to saying hello to someone in London and getting stabbed, yep having grown up there and living there until recently, that’s not far off the mark either 😂 it’s sad but true. Cracking video 👌 Definitely feels like a bit of a new start for you 🙏 What a route, though! I did Glaramara in deep snow (with a friend experienced in winter walking; my one and only real snow walk). There were places where we could push our trekking poles in, under our feet, up to the handles 😳. The rock step was a snowy climb, so probably easier 😂. BTW although I agree with Mungrisdale Common being a weird one, I actually enjoyed it - it was a lovely gentle walk over grass, although I was on a bit of a high after having just done Sharp Edge, and there is an interesting view of the Northern Fells encircling you.

Esk Hause is to me is like that snaking path is to you. It feels like Rivendell(!) When you're at great end next week.. perhaps mention AW's fine words about it keeping him awake in the long winter exile. They're very stirring and capture why we all go there rather to the awful tourist traps of windermere etc

Hi Black Crag I Love the absolutely beautiful English countryside and mountain's you are exploring. It is amazing the knowledge you have of the terrain. I also like to say hello to folk while walking. It's a hit and miss. Some people smile and are excited to be alive others freak out when they see a fellow 6ft2 giant walking towards them 😂 Don't give up on the smiles and hellos and the hikes mate your channel is excellent.
