Just rewatching your wainwright series 1.. I went to Lake District a lot as a kid, teens and 20's - way back and stayed at Kewswick with a family friend. I remember those bits of tractor etc with foliage growing through and being confused as they seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. I remember going up the little path afterwards and looking at Dad who was leading the hike as if he was mad...where were we going!...Dad led the hikes and Mum got us out of trouble as he always got lost and I was hopeless. On hot days it was a slog up to White Pike and we would sit on the rocky bit and drink our fill. It was strange all the grassy Dodds, but the views, as you say, were really incredible. Where I live near Dungeness Kent it is as flat as a pancake, at sea level... so I would have to acclimatise, by visiting as many pubs as possible on the way up now!🤑🤣It's a fantastic series, this episode in particular as I am so familiar with the area.

Another great video. With all those cracking views I did miss the "fell labeling" we saw in the last video but I guess the wind may have made the static panoramic shots a bit tricky. Loved the great shots of Fisherplace waterfalls right near the end. Cannot wait to see where you go next.

Awesome. Did that walk in reverse last month! In the quarry near the old tractors I got a bit lost and the light was going, there was an old guy, in tweed, with a sheep dog, looking round the quarry. I asked him directions and he pointed with his stick and told me to take the corpse road. I’m sure he grinned. It was a strange moment. Great video 👍

If my experience is anything to go by you’ll have plenty of Hartsides as you work your way through the Wainwrights! Plenty of days when the planning was a little optimistic and the legs complain. The missing ones won’t be going anywhere soon so look forward to ‘catch up’ days in the future 😆 Don’t know about you but I’m leaving the biggest til last. Planning to do Scafell Pike with as many friends as possible carrying a few sherbets to celebrate 🤣 Really enjoying this series.
