The POS device would never contain the BDK. This would only every exist on the host, and is used to derive unique ZPKs. The PIN would NEVER be directly encrypted under the BDK.

Hi Sir, when the PS sends the pin to Issuer in IWK format, how is the pin verified? Once when I change my pin after receiving my card will the issuing bank overwrites the PVK with the new one? And when the PS sends the pin to issuer, the issuer will verifies the IWK with the new PVK and process the transaction?

Hello Ramesh... Question: Are you sure the Payment processor like VISA will know the actual PIN of the customer while changing the ZPK to AWK? I think not. In my view, only the issuer can decrypt the AWK key to actual PIN in the very end.

I am 100% sure if VISA do not have PVK of the issuer - will not be able to know the clear PIN. However in most of the cases PVK is shared (under ZMK) with schemes so that Scheme can server the issuer with on-behalf services.

hello Ramesh, from ACQ to P.S VISA, ACQ will use AWK to encryption the pin and forward to P.S VISA, right? after P.S VISA received pin block from ACQ, P.S VISA will use AWK that store at P.S to translate PIN? then P.S VISA encrypted pin block by used ISW which store at P.S VISA, forward to ISS, ISS use ISW at ISS side to translate the PIN BLOCK received P.S VISA and validation it?
