Refreshing to see the fundamentals once again. Just to freshen up my mind and see where it all starts again instead of working with advanced diagrams. I enjoyed the video. Thanks W1Channel!

It would be fantabulous to see a well done video tutorial on how to step by step set up a home network that would be realistic and practical. Lets say we have a modem coming into the residence followed by a wireless router, and then behind that would be things like the smart tv, and xbox along with maybe a file server or Web/Mail Server and common printer, and even ip cameras? Maybe even a Repeater/Bridge for the guest room and garage. And then a DMZ For a Home Office, and VIOP Phone System..

I would like to see a video tutorial on how to set up a home network that includes a dmz between the primary modem and a home office sub network, this will require changing the external IP of the routers in the sub networks and the routers I am getting only have one WAN port, so if I am going to daisy chain routers to create sub networks at home with residential routers, do i connect the WAN port of one router to one of the LAN ports of another router??? and how do I change the external IP address settings on the sub routers??? Love your tutorials, they have been very helpful but now my home network is growing past one simple internal network, now I have an internal network that is sub divided into sub networks and I can't figure out how to connect the WAN ports and change the external IP address???

Sir , just to add to your point ... LAN ---- may be restricted to a small geographical area.... however a more detailed description would be if they share the same "network medium". Example is that you have multi tier switches and VLANs and then you could have VLAN 10 is building 1 which has predominantly VLAN 1, but then in Building 2 which may be 1000 ft away may have VLAN 1 and VLAN 10 . Actually i made the same mistake :) .... Actually coming to think of VLAN .... VLAN 1 and VLAN 10 share the same network network , in the trunk "technically" , but since tagging is involved they are "virtual "

Three questions: 1 - Can a peer-to-peer network have different OS installed on them? Or do they need to have the same OS? 2 - Is a peer-to-peer a bus topology?
