chapter 1 | moving to nyc - turning my room into a home, fighting jetlag, berkleenyc orientation

In the spring of 1975 (yes, I am old) I decided to do essentially a semester abroad and flew from Chicago to London and worked as an intern at a regional theater south of London. I lived with a host family that had never hosted anyone before and I only knew the name of one contact at the theater. It took me a few days to a week to feel welcome, but I knew that this was an important thing to do to further my education and future career. So I am glad I didn’t head home, but stayed and made friends in the theater quickly! Like you did in the music area!
