Well, you'd be surprised how often legends turn out to be true in the MlpVerse. I'd say Uzzy wanted ti show her friends because since magic was back for at least a year, it meant it happened at least once already, Izzy saw it and wanted to show it to her friends. That's my best explanation.

I'm honestly excited for Chapter 4; mostly because the plot info (as well as an accidental leaked Spanish audio) hinted that the Mane 5 will FINALLY learn about and confront Opaline. Also, 2 things: 1. I didn't think the animation looked off in this trailer. It might not be as "polished" as it was in "Winter Wishday", but compared to the animation in Chapter 1 (and some parts of Chapter 2), it looks fine IMHO. 2. I'm surprised you didn't mention that the bugs in the field look like the parasprites from G4, because that's what some people are pointing out on Equestria Daily.

So it doesn't have to be magical. There's a plant named the Saintpaulia streptocarpus that blooms year around. If the plant in mym is similar to that, that'll mean it's not a magical plant at all. As for the glowing effect, that could be caused by bioluminescent algae since some types of algae have been known to live in damp places like tree bark. But that all depends on if the plant has a dampened interior before it blooms. So it doesn't really mean that it's magical because it glows.

Yeah, but for everything from the flowers, to the crystals, the mushrooms, and the bugs to all illuminate at the same exact time like clockwork? That seems more likely to be magic than science. And since Zipp was examining the plants and bugs and asking about it not being a spell, I wouldn't be surprised if this was hinting at a larger part of the plot that somehow revolves around everything glowing via magic. But that part I am not 100% certain about until the episode comes out. They are just putting a suspicious amount of focus on the glowing that makes me believe that.

2:38 Two possibilities: 1. It was written down before magic vanished. 2. Seeing as the sun and moon now move without magic, it's possible the blooming occurred without the need for magic. When magic stops, physics takes over.

I actually really like the sound of that idea. Like the G4 ponies had their duties controlling nature with magic (Pegasus magic controlling the weather, the Princesses raising the sun/moon etc,) but maybe nature adapted in the absence of magic. Or maybe nature was always going to be fine with or without the pony's magic, but it eventually just became a tradition carried out for generations until magic disappeared.

I know just about every incarnation of MLP has been to sell toys & merch, but it's a lot more noticeable in G5 so far. I agree in that it really feels like they're not putting as much thought or effort into this as was put into G4.

I do also think that FiM found ways to have compelling moments without a lot of action in most cases. A quality I do find lacking in most of Gen 5, unfortunately. But that's just me. I don't really need a lot of action.

Even if it's chapter four, I still feel G5 is still very much in it's first season. The first season is usually like an experimental phase for a show as they writers abd staff try to find what fits. I still have hope for G5 that'll it'll pick up at some point once the writers finally find their groove. It's just a matter of patience.

Yeah, the animation took a downstep, but the big question is...will the storytelling and character development finally get an upgrade? Or will we continue to endure more of what chapters 1 through 3 have delivered? Since the writers have already given us a so-vague-it-hurts timeframe called a "moon season"...i'm not overly hopeful but i'm keeping my fingers, legs and eyes crossed in the hope the storytelling and character development do get better.

I've been studying a lot about creative writing in the past couple or so years and it led me to easily detect problems in the scripts and create solutions to fix it. What I can expect at least for Chap 4 are the few moments where the writing suddenly becomes solid, and then it dips back down to bad territory. But yes, I too hope for an improvment in some way.

about the “moonseasons”, my best guess is that they’re like seasons in the real world, meaning they happen 4 times a year or something similar. As for the magic stuff, while pony magic might have been blocked it wasn’t all magic, meaning most of not all naturally occurring magic would still happen, such as this specific event. Though my explanation for magic is still a rough theory at this point, I’m still trying to figure out some kinks like how Cloudpuff apparently never flew before magic returned. I have to agree with you, the amount of continuity errors in this new gen are crazy

About the contradiction, I think that 1 moon is close to 1 week in equestria. In Apple Family Reunion, Granny Smith sais it was almost 100 moons from the last reunion. (It would make sence that she meant the one from the very 1st episode of the show.) It happened near the end of the 3rd season and seasons 4th premiere happened exactly 2 years after shows premiere (as far as we know) because there were only 2 winters between them and it was summer sun celebration in both of those episodes. Therefore 100 moons is around 730 days (2 years), so 1 moon would be more or less 7 days. As an example then: if a moon season was even 10 moons long, (between 2 and 3 months) and magic came back close to 1 year ago, Luma Bloom would happen 4 to 6 times already and still be a pretty rare occurrence.

Agreed. At first I actually thought it was interesting as it added something to her character, but it's overdone and has pretty much become the only thing she ever does. Plus, it just feels incredibly unrealistic for anyone other than a child playing detective to pull out a magnifying glass every five minutes and take notes on literally everything around her.

Damn disgusting comments hating everything to the G5, if they only knew how beautiful the small community of fans who really support the G5 is... I don't feel so much external hate and negativity, from all those people who judged us for being Bronys in the G4, although I think this is why we are the Bronys themselves who do the same but with the G5... On top of that, there is so much content to take advantage of in the G5, that it is a real shame how it is wasted, but it does not affect me at all because I am only a viewer who does not earn money for watching content... No, but what do those who hate the G5 for no reason expect? Epic battles or a lot of lore how we had in the best times of the G4? The G4 took 4 seasons to put together a well-done series and more focused on lore The G5 is just in its first season and only 10 episodes have passed and it shows that little by little they are trying to build the lore, the G4 in its first 10 episodes, the best thing it had was only Zecora The G5 is an opportunity for you to be encouraged to make stories that were not encouraged in the G4, as with the Discord arc, it is a great opportunity to improve much more than it already is, the lore of the G4 But of course, if they don't give it a chance and criticize it for just what they do in the first season or there are many other people who want it to not exist, it's impossible for that to happen, If want to sabotage it all the time... Another great video! I'm not expecting anything outstanding from chapter 4 at this point. Just like how in season 1 of fim you could tell the designers/writers were still finding their footing with how "kid friendly" do they want the designs and concepts of the villains/monsters to be. As well as how far they wanted to push the fantasy/adventure element. I'd imagine this show is going through a similar thing. (It really doesn't help though hasbro's heavy cooperate influence on this generation especially.) The only thing that kinda looks to be improving is the expressions of the ponies and the location but not by that much. on a side note: I am in awe such a glorious bread stick has graced our screens in this video. With so many varieties of bread, if only I can truly bask and marvel in all universal breads greatness and presence in life. Makes me want to create a bread tier list 🤔🥖🍞👀

I personally disliked how the backgrounds for Bridlewood looked in Winter Wishday, but it seems they have tuned them up a bit. This one clip is smooth, colorful, and in my opinion, a harbinger of good to come in the future. But we shall see I suppose. If we actually spend some quality time in Bridlewood, I will be happy.

I'm not really bothered by continuity errors or lower budget animation (cause my standards are low af) What bothers me is how the mane 5 don't seem to be worried about the evil pony Twilight warned them of (Opaline). They just kinda forgot after chapter 2.

About friending time! Potential continuity blunders aside, I've long since accepted that G5 is somewhat all over the place and I'm just here for the ride. I still kinda wish they'd either go all in on connecting it to FiM, or just drop that plot thread entirely. The comics have a similar problem, but their connection to G4 is still a bit better handled. Also I would love more development with Misty & Opaline, but I expect most of chapter 4 will be more or less the same kind of filler we've gotten previously.

It would've been so funny if someone asked how long a moon season is and then the trailer stopped. XD I dont know if that makes sense, but maybe a moon "season" is when a special moon occurs for one night. A super moon or a res moon for example. This season had to be something special, so it makes sense that the moon is different in this time. Yeah its called season and a season is long, but its the only thing I can think of. Since it wasnt present in G4, maybe it has to do something with Luna. After she passed away, some if her magic went into the moon. Then, if ebiugh magic isnin the moon, the moon changes for some time. I dont think its a full season wirh 3-4 months nd just for a few nights. It would be a very nice idea, because Luna would kinda still lives as part of the moon, because she was very much connected with it.

I feel that the writers have a quota in each episode for Pipp and Zipp - it’s not a job well-done if Pipp doesn’t sing a song and Zipp becomes a sleuth! i feel it is going down hill :/ Im sure each episode can be saved if have better lore writing. it is sad to see it is just a horse show for kids, while yes it is for kids, but it could be for grown ups to enjoy too, i like some episodes, like the sister episode uwu and why do they have sparky '3' what is a moon season!? is this Winter? or Summer? It is a natural phenomenon, but that doesn't mean it's not magic. the ripening of Zapp Apples for example is a natural phenomenon, but it is still magical. Plus whenever anything in Equestria starts glowing your usually safe to assume it's magic. :/

@@Star_Strike But why would they say its a natural phenomenon if it was not. for example fireflies glow as well and there's not magic giving them their glowing ability its just bioluminescence there are also some other species of animals and creatures that can form their own light there is even fungi that can create its own light even fungi in the real world can create its own light. The plants and animal's in this clip could have bioluminescence. Not everything that might seem unbelievable has to have magic as a reason for their appearance. How would izzy have know about these if their were made of magic since magic has been gone form their world for a very long time.

Considering the unicorns are from what I can tell, heavily based upon pagan practices considering their sleepover traditions involving hoof reading and reading tea leaves, their version of Christmas and the headdress Izzy wore for it, so I'd say, it's, " Litha (also known as Midsummer) occurs on the summer solstice, and celebrates the beginning of summer " It's probably their version because it's in June. Also, about your take as this being a downgrade in animation. I personally disagree, I think it looks about the same as we had before, with actual improvements in the facial expression department. Also, If you all remember in chapter two, some episodes had better animation than others, so it may be the same for Chapter 4.

Upon thinking about it more, I think the reason this feels like a downgrade to me is because Winter Wishday had the simpler snowy backgrounds and environments, meaning there was little vegetation which is the main stuff that looks a lot like plastic and rubber to me. Aside from that, I don't think the animation looks too different from Winter Wishday, but it's hard to say from a single one minute clip. Maybe if they were to ad a little animation to the plant life in the area by having them blow a little in the wind, it would feel less like rubber and plastic. Though, I don't know if they have the time or budget to rig the models to even do that. They have been very rushed on everything.

🤦‍♀️ of course they couldn't even go a minute without contradicting their own lore. It's become a meme of its own at this point. It was literally the first thing I thought of when Izzy mentioned that. More and more I'm convinced this is a parallel universe, because it makes less and less sense with it being directly in the Mane FiM timeline and can only be explained away as its own universe. I'm honestly writing several fanfics that are each going to actually give a legitimate reason for why the G5 universe works the bonkers way it does if it's supposed to be G4's future because I'm damn sure G5 isn't going to bother doing it itself and I'm certain my way will be much more respectful to G5 than G5 is being to itself
