Videos like this are so invaluable, I’ve used Tamiya paint almost exclusively but received some Ammo of MiG acrylics and was having similar issues. Love the products!

Dear Mig,, I have quite a few of your paint sets and I am very pleased with the results. The ease of just being able to pour straight into my airbrush from the bottle and get smooth results just can't be beat. You really are making some of the best paints and weathering items on the market today! A warm thank you to you and your staff

Wish I had watched this before painting my Tiger I late version. Made a right mess, but using your technique looks so much better, thanks.

I know you wrote this 3 years ago but you can still fix the model. I have used this product called Revell paint remover it will strip the paint of so you can start on youre tank all over again. Remember to use a filter mask or go outside because it has a toxic oudor.

Good tip and yes you acrylics are great for details and thin lines however i just bought the set for mecha and the red in it doesnt give a smooth finish what ever you do. At best, with the thin layer method, it gives kind of textured finish but not perfectly smooth. Tried with duse from 4 to 1.5. Undiluted or diluted in different ratios (with your thinner and other brands), psi from low as 8 to 25. So far the best result i obtained has been with 20 psi, never far away (otherwise it leaves small dots) from the panel, undiluted, trigger 1/10 of paint however it clogs quite often and its always textured. Same thing with the cold grey from the same kit. Have you had problems with the kits maybe? I have also tried your dull green and that seems to work perfectly instead...other products like washes, pigments and fluids are great.

I use a full range of AMMO paint by MiG. Mostly paint 'mechs (Gundam/Gunpla), and it was difficult at first. But I started to learn more and more. If you intend on painting Gundam, a good thing to do is first clean all the parts (mild soap + water). I also use sanders to really get the paint to stick to the surface. Primers: Start with grey, let it set for 10 minutes between each layer. After that? Well, black primer! Same procedure there. Then I let it all set for 24 hrs, start with what ever color scheme I want. Decrease the bar/psi on the compressor and start to paint. Also, if you want a cool effect - use AMMO MiG Transparator: Use a base color of choice, let it set for 24 hrs, then use something for like outlines, and spray Transparator on it, let it set and use the second color and voilá! Cool effect!! Remember to clean your airbrush/paintbrush after use..

How do you paint in very soft layers if you're trying to freehand camouflage doesn't usually work that well

I love the colours in your range but when I used sand and dust colours with a brush the paint does not dry matte. And i applied real light coat in fine detail.

Thanks for sharing the tips. What cleaner can be used to clean the air brush? Can I use water to clean MIG paint? Or does ammo mig provide cleaner?

I used the ammo black primer straight from the jar with around 20 - 25 psi but i keep getting blockages until i thin it with lacquer thinner. I dont know what am i doing wrong.

Well , thanks for that . It was very informative . I'll definitely chuck my Ammo paints away and go back to Tamiya Acrylics . Why would you make a product that is so difficult to use ?

you can use fish eye remover...the reason that happens is oil in the air or in the product.

The paint seems very thin which is why you don't need to thin it for use with an airbrush and also why you need to do more layers. Just like a spray can you need to let it dry a bit between layers.
@FlowDeBandoler07 жыл бұрын
but if you want to use it with a brush? not airbrush just the brush... its the same?

An objective and unbiased clip on the proper technique for using Mig Acrylic paints - thanks. It reminds me of the need to use acrylic washes in a particular way as well; especially if one is used to the relative ease of enamel washes. For acrylic washes, see KZbin titles "AFV acrylic techniques", and "Vallejo Acrylic Techniques".

Gave this vid a thumbs down because of the quality/resolution. There is no need to have a max quality of 360. Sad. As to the content of the vid, it gets a thumbs up.
