Greek person here! I just found your channel and I am loving it! I am born raised and currently living in Peloponnese so when you come to Greece I would be happy to recommend some fun places to visit and things to do. Ps. That abandoned building in the abandoned thermals wasn't a school nor a church. I was a restaurant 😂

Oh wow thanks for sharing that with us, must have been a very big restaurant. It's such a beautiful area we were so surprised to see it all abandoned. Thankyou so much for watching, so glad you found our channel. We will definitely ask you for some fun places when we get back there hopefully later this year 🤞🤞

Love how you two keep in adventure mode even on driving days! Gotta get out and stretch the legs to break up hours in a seat. Since you asked, my go-to road trip snacks are peanut M&Ms, Doritos, and Mountain Dew. Don't drink soda very often, but hours on the motorway require The Dew! Emotionally preparing for the next chapter... 💔💔 ❤️❤️😎👍

Kavala is one of my favourite city in Greece. Peaceful and quiet. Also a special cookie is made in Kavala. Thessaloniki has a special place in our hearts. Father of Turkey - Ataturk was born in Thessaloniki. On the way to igoumenitsa, the town Parga is amazing. Paxos islands like a heaven. The beach Bella Vraka is my favourite, in the future please visit them. Safe travels.🧿

Recommendations in Greece? Countless. There are vloggers that stayed in Greece 4 months while they initially intended 1-2 months, and even they without the ides of how many things there are, said they would need another full year of traveling in Greece to get an ideas. Bur ehm. Yes as someone who loves Greece with years of done research of the country some rapidfire regions you should 1000% check is: Halkidiki, Athos holy mountain, Macedonia province, with mount Olympus, lake kerkini, aggitis cave, alistrati cave, Rhodope mountains, Prespes lakes, Pindus mountains, Aspropotamos, Baros pass, Epirus, Acherontas river, Acheloos river, Aoos lake and Aoos gorge, Vikos gorge, Dragon lake on Mount Tymfi, Verliga on mount Lakmos, Meteora, Tzoumerka mountains, twin waterfalls on Tzoumerka, Rema marks cascade waterfall on Tzoumerka, Syrrako, Zachorochoria, Alonaki beach in the area of Parga, Lefkada, Koronisia, Strofilia forest, Achaia, Evrytania, Karpenisi and Proussos, Pelion, Evia, Lichadonisia, Mount parnassos, Mount Giona, Mount Vardousia, Mount Chelidona, lake Kremasta, acheloos valley and follow the river, Nafplio and also the unknown dolin craters nearby, Methana and the Methana Volcano there, Lake Doxa, Mount Taygetus, Monemvasia, Vergina archaeological site, Gythion, Mani peninsula, Diros caves, Voidokilia, Foloi forest and Nemouta waterfall there, and so so much more. But these are an absolute must at the absolute bare minimum. And these are only some wonderful regions and areas on just the mainland. Spend 5 minutes separately researching every of these places/regions on google and youtube and you will see what kind of favor I have done to giving this knowledge about this country that you will hardly ever come to know from even reading 100 random websites. And with it I completely disregarded countless of natural gems, special historical and cultural sites inbetween all these areas or inside these areas but with skme research in these topics you will find them out. You will utterly love it I am sure
@phillyandkeely2 жыл бұрын
Wow this is all wonderful!! Thankyou so so much for all these awesome recommendations, I can see you really love Greece 🥰🥰 so we really appreciate you taking the time to share all these spots with us! We found in Serbia alot of our best recommendations were from people who experienced life there much more than all the blogs, they all tend to give the same spots over and over again, where as locals give the best advice 🥰 so thankyou so much for doing this for us with Greece. You have us excited for when we come back to explore it more ❤️❤️❤️

@@phillyandkeely with all pleasure. By the time you spend 5 minutes on every single kf these names investigating them, your excitement will be even much much bigger. Greece is truly blessed with stupendously wonderful nature. It is a country with 80% mountains of which 20% of all of Europes ultra peak mountains being in Greece. And these mountains are because of Greece being on 4 tectonic earthplates: European, African, Asian and one that got crushed in between them, giving the country these 80% mountains, incredibly diverse landscapes, geological paradises, immensely diverse nature due to Greeces immensely diverse topography and geography. And this immense diverse is because of the isolation that is created due to the 80% mountains and the 6000 islands around the heavily indented mainland. And this diversity is not only in nature, but also history, culture, traditions and culinary with many local cuisines all around the country. Crete alone is called the small continent with 5 mountain ranges, snowcapped till june, rising 2500 meters straight out of the sea. 400 gorges 1000 km coastline, the incredibly advanced minoan civilization 5630-3200 years ago, 9000 years of civilization and one of the oldest continuous cities of Knossos from 7000BCE onwards. With alpine mountains all the way to the only natural palmforests in Europe and everything inbetween. And that is just Crete, let alone the rest of the country. This country, when you truly access its real 100% face in all its diversity, its truly a paradise. And these mountains and geology that I am talking about also always meet the sea of a whopping 16.000 km of coastline. By far the longest in all of the Mediterranean. And the combination of these most crystal clear waters of all the hues possible and the mountains meeting it makes up for breathtaking views around every corner. And every region, place, island, its own world of beauty and diversity. For more geology purposes one can also make trips to Milos island with *every* possible stone color you can find. A geologist paradise. Also Santorini, nissyros, Gyali. They are all part of the volcanic arch of Greece as Greece has 12 volcano's as well. Anyway. Greece is a caleidoscope of diversity. No mountain the same. No beach the same and no view the same due to its incredibly complex topographical, geographical, geological character. Its no surprise it has always been a standard source of inspiration to thinkers, philosophers, and so on throughout the millennia

@@phillyandkeely if you ever think of making a trip to Greece and you somehow like to have even more info, you can always try to contact me if you remember me by that point. The only advise I can give is that Greece needs 3-4 months at the very minimum to be able to get a glimpse of these diversities and sheer beauty that I am talking about. And a period of februari/march - june is a perfect time

After my gushy reply to your comments on my video, I can only apologise for further gushiness here, but wow, you guys make such amazing vlogs. Hubby and I are such fans of your kindness, warmth, and humour. You really are so naturally and unaffectedly funny. We love you! That was a great border crossing, and those hot springs - wow! It looked like some sort of nightmarish dystopian East German ruin from the 1980's, and you went for a swim in an open sewer! I was waiting for the zombies to arrive! And yet, also, one of the most unusual and fascinating hot spring vlogs I've seen. Excellent work. And Keely, I totally agree about sandwiches. I'm a sandwich addict too. And those looked yummy. Amazing the amount of trauma you have crossing a border, you never know if you will end up with jobsworths who take sadistic pleasure in demeaning you. This is from my experience dealing with British customs years ago. A delayed flight from Cork, diverted to Bristol, left on tarmac for an hour, told we had to go through customs so we did, a chap protested and to quote the Customs bloke, "if you are going to be difficult, we will go through your luggage with a fine tooth comb". The incipient rebellion was crushed because it was clear he would do this to him and the rest of us. Jumped up little creep. Result 2 more hours in Bristol now off to Heathrow. Don't be silly we diverted to the Channel Islands to drop off some holiday makers and collect those returning. End result a 1 hour flight from Cork to Heathrow took 10 hours with a 6 month old baby whose nappy was destroyed because we didn't pack spares in our hand luggage. Dan Air is gone but not forgotten but good riddance to them.
@phillyandkeely7 ай бұрын
Wow that sounds like a horrific experience! The poor baby 💔 and yeah you get some douchebags at borders! Well in any position of power really, alot of people in service jobs are doing it for the right reasons but you get some who are just high on power
