Don’t let your bad experience taint your experiences, you survived it all, and while staying aware enjoy..Having lived in Spain for 12 years. You adopt a siege mentality, never leave your things alone,be hyper aware of the people and surroundings and don’t feel rude if your being crowded stop spin around and face them up..and you don’t even realize your doing it.. but France is lovely, we have been here 4 weeks so far, let our guard down and said we would never do that in Spain..and it’s been really cathartic and healing hope the magic works for you..enjoy your trip
@phillyandkeely2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice Chris. We absolutely love Spain and would LOVE to live there some day on a little plot of land. Do you enjoy it? I'm not sure I could live forever with a seige mentality lol. But I much prefer being in a country where I can speak at least a little of the language. I keep accidently speaking in Spanish to french people, thankfully so far they have been very kind to my idiocy. Hopefully we experience some of the carthatic magic you speak of and can relax ourselves a little.

@@phillyandkeely we love Spain and the Spanish people are so kind And tolerant , we only come home as the job markets dried up and my girls come back and started having babies..when you live there your not aware that you’re on high alert...until you let it go, rushing back for a dear friend and your parked up at a hospital in a English motorhome.on high alert again ..it was a totally bizarre realisation...but you soon adjust.,,, your love living in Spain we still think in Spanish.😆😁 But this winter a intensive French Micheal Thomas course..as l have no wish to travel that far with the price of fuel. We are very lucky to live near your fave city...just a short bus ride in. And 10 minutes to Newhaven ferry...

Yeah sadly our laptops aren't able to be charged by 12v, I suppose that's why so many people use Mac's so they can do that
@PB_6572 жыл бұрын
@@phillyandkeely Should be possible to get a car charger I would think. I got one for my Dell laptop from eBay. Takes 12v up to 19v for my Dell which is less wasteful than going 240 down to 12v !!
@phillyandkeely2 жыл бұрын
Is your Dell chargeable by USBC? I'm intrigued, we have very powerful laptops which I was certain could only be charged by their proper power bank. Will have to research more.

Interesting take on the EcoFlow, but I think if you have to pay nearly £2k you are less than thrilled with the issues these have. Easier to accept if they send you this for free! I find the fan noise insane on this unit, if you try to watch a bit of KZbin or Netflix for example it’s really intrusive and it kicks off when the temperature is only around 15 centigrade and pulling only 65w! Mine also failed massively when it tried to update firmware and we’ve had multiple other issues (losing all charge, refusing to charge, melted the car charger and damaged my car’s console) that are hard to swallow when you pay their prices. You pay for the convenience of having an all-in-one battery without inverter etc so the faults are unacceptable when you are relying on this for power and I thought that spending the extortionate prices would guarantee that I received a functional and satisfying to use power station. Listening to the noisy fan right now in fact for the 6th or 7th time this morning 🤣
@phillyandkeely2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear you've had crap experience of it 💔 so far our experience has been really good, but to be fair we have never tried to charge it from car console and not had the fan kick in too many times so far. Will be interesting to see how it holds up in the temperatures in France and keeping us off grid while we are away. We spoke to a few other vanlifers who have tried lots of different ones on the market and the general consensus is that it is the best one out there, but I can't personally compare it to any others. Will be doing a follow up review of it in a month's time so will have to let you know how it is going for us. Fingers crossed we continue having good experience with it, will see what happens on the next firmware update lol. Thanks for the comment, really appreciate hearing other people's experiences of stuff and places etc.

Thanks so much Sally. We have the delta max, at first we were worried it might be a bit big for the van lol, but with it being able to run both our laptops for so long we are so pleased with it. Cloudy days and dark nights were a killer for us trying to edit, but now we don't have to worry about that 🥰🥰 I know some other vanlifers are really happy with the mini one, we just have two very powerful laptops we both need to run lol, so it all depends on each person's needs.

Ecoflow yoke looks class. Can you attach jumpleads. Did you ever try a toasting fork and use the hob gas to toast?
@phillyandkeely2 жыл бұрын
Now that would be impressive if we could jump our van from it!!!! Save all our problems lmao! I tried toasting stuff straight on the flame It also seems to smoke the place out, but probably because I'm prone to burning stuff haha. Is a toasting fork what I'm thinking of? The wee four way rack thing that you set on top of the gas, or is this some new contraption I need in my life?
@Basilbrush2072 жыл бұрын
Never had much luck with special toast devices for gas hobs. We toast bread in our frying pan on the gas hob. Just add a bit of butter or similar if vegan to stop it singeing and move it around with a wooden spoon. We do tea cakes n crumpets in the same way ✅👍🏻

No solution yet, from what we've seen alot of options appear to be low quality, so definitely keen to hear of one specifically fitted that doesn't just tear at the sucker etc. I've heard of people making their own with magnets for side windows, but not sure about front one.
