Awww, so sad for both of you. The anxiety is real and a sign that you need to take care of yourselves as you figure things out. You will know the right thing to do when you know it. We had a house fire when we had two little babies. It was so stressful, I caused it, and I will never forget the trauma. However, we continued on and the pain eased with time. You bring joy and love to all of us who watch. I hope you feel that love back as you heal from this awful event. On the flip side, the mushroom foraging and time with your friends was beautiful to see. That is what van life is all about. Take care of yourselves, be gentle with your expectations, and remember that this too will pass…xoxo

Oh my god. My heart was there with you guys watching that. Keely, the anxiety and all the feelings you're having (and I'm sure Philly is feeling it too but it's what you said at the end that I'm responding to), those are all totally valid. None of this "it could have been worse" or that other people will think this isn't a big deal. It is a big deal, you almost lost your home. And that's on top of all the other things you guys have been through with the van. It is 100% ok to feel how you're feeling, and take that into account when it comes to whatever you choose to do next. Love you both so much.

Big hugs to you both for what you’ve been through. I’m a full time nomad too in a caravan and have had many a scary moment out there on the road and unfortunately it does create a lot of anxiety when they pile up and you finally, after having been praised and encouraged by being told how “brave” I am to do what I do on my own, you do eventually get what I call “the fear”, the what ifs mount and you seriously question if it’s worth it. I’ve been road tripping like this for over 10 years now and figured that with great risk comes great reward. Yeah I’ve had a lot of hard things to deal with because of my choice to be a lifetime wanderer, but oh my gosh the highs! I’ve seen more, done more, soaked up more of nature’s glory, met so many amazing humans and experienced more wonder than most humans will ever have in their lifetime and I figured in the grand scale of pros and cons, it was a fair trade. Having said that, I’m in my 50s now and dealing with chronic illnesses so constantly moving on is more and more exhausting. Whatever you decide to do, I am thankful that I’ve been able to follow your journeys and get to know you through your wonderful videos. Whatever your future holds make sure you do what’s right for YOU, and not feel obligated to push on for the sake of content. You have each other, an amazing stack of memories and a great outlook on life as a result. So much love to you both! 🤗

Very infrequent commenter here (as in, never), but you guys (and Tom and Is, and lots of others on KZbin also) have inspired me to get into vanlife early next year. It's sad to think the pair of you might decide to stop Phillyin' and Keelyin' around Europe in Martha (yes, you're verbs now), but look after yourselves first and foremost, and work out what's best for you to do. I'd personally spend a few extra dollars getting her checked out top-to-toe at an official Citroen service centre after this, hopefully it'll be good news :)

I wrote my previous comment before I completed watching the whole video. I really feel your anxiety and apprehension but I don't possess it, that's looking at it objectively. I call it spiritual weightlifting, you know to make you stronger. Isn't it amazing how creator put just the right people in your life at just the right time, isn't that beautiful and affirming. There's something wonderful waiting for You on the other side of this. This is my first video of yours so I don't know you very well yet. Allowing these feelings of dread to come and be observed and understood and then resolved. What did this show you about yourself and how resilient you are? The solution is going to percolate up from your soul and you're going to feel triumphant. I hope you tell us exactly what the mechanic found that created the smoke and fire, I am very interested in that. I cried when you cried and I admire your friendships. What a blessing. You will know what you want to do when your mind and your spirit find calm. Agape

Wow- well that was an emotional rollercoaster! I loved seeing all of you (all my favorite van lifers!) in one place, having fun, it genuinely gave me a smile and a vicarious happy glow! Thank you for sharing your adventures! I am so very glad, Keeley & Philly, that you are safe and Martha is in one piece! There is an amazing book, by the Buddhist teacher, Pema Chodron, I don't know if either of you have read it- called When Things Fall Apart- it's very good to read. Basically, when stuff goes right, or when stuff goes wrong, how to live with impermanence? It made me feel better about life generally. Your situation made me think of it because I have been there, like sitting by the side of the road, wondering what to do next. Not always literally. But still. Anyway, I love watching your videos, and seeing beautiful places you see, through your camera. Take good care and stay safe!! ❤❤xo- Amy
