This was one of the most difficult videos to make, all my videos were so low budget...I think I edited it in Brixton Video Makers co-op, probably on two lowband U-Matic machines with a basic vision mixer, It was a nightmare to make the boxes !! and somehow get shots to fit in the boxes.... all sort of done by hand bouncing one edit to another to another.. and you can see the edges bleeding Into one another from time to time. Miles Visman made the turning graphics and I think there were done on an early commodore computer or something. He had made graphics for me for Spiritualized all done from scratch with code, as these were the first days of computer graphics.. It was a successful video I think . It was inspired by a Gilbert and George that I must have seen at the time..

This band was and still is way ahead of their time! I can't believe they aren't getting the air play they deserve. I hate commercial radio! Hearing them back in the 90s and now... I still get goosebumps and if I was stranded on a deserted island, their playlist will definitely keep me sane!

Lyrics: Crystal light in deep blue eyes Weren't enough to satisfy Senses reeling off the floor But I always wanted something more You're not alone Had to tell you how I felt Had to try with someone else Breathless nights or burning sun Waking tears, you weren't the one You're not alone Pick me off the floor

Preface: I love this band. But so many of their songs are just short of greatness. That guitar riff is unreal and the song is grounded. This friggin close to being a dime, and it's a nickel.

No, they happened at the same time. Shoegaze in Europe, and Grunge in USA. Both genres share influences (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Husker Du, etc).
