i like how most of these OSTs have a desperate and ominous feel to it in contrast with the more triumphant tone of the first BFG. it really reflects the sense of urgency the imperium have in this war.

Without giving away spoilers, I'm at a point in the Imperium campaign where I feel like I don't have enough fleets/resources to deal with all of the enemy factions. I'm having to weep for the sacrifice of untold billions as filthy Xenos bring ruin to systems. The 4X part of the fight definitely feels desperate and ominous.

Actually, this soundtrack is not that epic as that in bfg1. However, it is more universal, while in bfg1 you can feel that the whole soundtrack is praising the Emperor and the Imperium, or at least written in the shoes of the Imperium navy. In bfg2, the music only renders the environment. Still nicely done!
