Dwarka, located in the western Indian state of Gujarat, is believed to be the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. It holds immense religious importance for Hindus as the place where Lord Krishna established his capital city. The Dwarkadhish Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, is a major pilgrimage site in Dwarka.
Puri is situated in the eastern state of Odisha. The Jagannath Temple in Puri is one of the most renowned Hindu temples in India. It is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The annual Rath Yatra, a grand chariot procession, takes place in Puri, attracting millions of devotees.
Rameshwaram is located in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. It is associated with Lord Rama and is believed to be the place where Lord Rama and his army built a bridge to reach Lanka, as mentioned in the epic Ramayana. The Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram is a significant place of worship for Hindus.
Badrinath, as mentioned earlier, is part of both the Chardham and Char Dham circuits. It is situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Badrinath Temple is highly revered and attracts numerous devotees each year.
Embarking on the Char Dham Yatra and visiting these four sacred sites is considered extremely auspicious for Hindu devotees, providing an opportunity for spiritual purification and seeking blessings.
It's important to note that these pilgrimage sites have historical and cultural significance, and each holds its unique charm and spiritual atmosphere.
