@@epicalworlds2775 I believe it's hinted one of the reasons Chara can become this powerful is because while they may have initially died an average human, they died a *second* time alongside Asriel while sharing a body, which is what make's their situation unique compared to a normal human's. Because we then observe from them various traits you can actually recognize with a monster in a similar situation, that also being Asriel. The existence as a SOULless "essence", the related inability to feel sentimentality, the ability to latch onto a "vessel" and retain their individuality, (The Flower for Asriel, Frisk themselves for Chara) and very crucially, the ability to gain very large amounts of power through the increase of control over SOULs. That sort of stuff surrounding them has always hinted to me that they're powerful enough to destroy a universe for a more individualized reason, because it's not like we can expect that Undertale's world can survive as long as it has if every average human had the ability to get powerful enough to destroy the local universe from murder alone. Chara will treat the player as a peer sure, but there's a reason that as soon as we show dissent at their full-power, it ends up being the player having to concede to Chara's demands, over anything else. At that point we're as much at their mercy as we are at Asriel's in the Pacifist run. But uh, mercy isn't exactly something done too much in Genocide, so in a neat sort of thematic mirror, Chara will simply display to us the same level of mercy we showed everyone else on that run.
